Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Centene will fall

This organization once a jewel of St Louis has turned into a nest of power hungry vipers, they have wronged so many people, they have made so many bad decisions, the new CEO and some of the newly known accolades are ra-ing the place and burning it to the ground. Let see for how long it will survive,I give it 3 years max.

@OP+1pcIYie7 To be the crown Jewel of a dumpster fire? This company was never that great. The only thing they did well was turning a profit on Medicaid.

@3aze+1pcIYie7 Many people were giving Sarah the benefit of the doubt on that, but some of the things that have happened recently and how they have pushed out people who only needed some space and support to operate it show she is making it ten times worse. She may survive and get away with her millions, but Centene will be an utter disaster at the brink of collapse at this pace.

Anyone still trying to pin this on current leadership needs to read the latest article on health payer specialist. That’s the same media outlet they broke the news of layoffs.

They specifically call out MFN as creating this mess. He grew the company but spent no energy trying to integrate. That giant problem was dumped on current leaders.

The DEI is a facade!!! They just use the marginalized communities to move forward with their corrupt privileged agenda.

Centene had some ongoing issues in the works, but this out of touch with reality CEO and its corrupt hr practices are turning the organization into the drags of healthcare

Current CEO is weak and a lunatic, worse is surrounded by very insidious hr folks that she doesn't even bother to question,a lot of rapacity and gossip in the isles of the 8th floor. Super toxic environment masquerade with a fake speech of DEI and collaboration. Being part of this organization feels more like a game of survival and not anymore as the mission driven place it used to be

Well MFN created thousands of jobs shedding a few was not right but sort of understandable .Sarah has created none, she has pushed some of the best recruits Centene had and some of the most knowledgeable workers, there's a very nasty power play around the people who are close to Drew or Wellcare, the old Centene guard left and some the new humana implants, it is a very dysfunctional place and there's a culture of fear and lack of transparency like never before, also a lot of bad decisions around leadership and who is in charge, there is complete disagreement between strategy and execution, there is a lot of instability, in other words, there is no clear leadership or a good prospect that things will get better, Centene needed a seasoned executive that could command respect not a head talking power point reader like Sarah.

All I can say is either none of you were here for 2021 layoff of 3000 people or since you were not affected, it didn't really resonate with you at the time. It was when MFN was making the calls on that, so this new woman & her henchman are on par with what he pulled on a yearly basis. They laid off the knowledgeable older workers (not as old as that old fa-t making millions off of our backs) making a decent living and sprinkled a few younger ones in to avoid lawsuits. We were the folks who stood up all the original health plans, traveled to each and sometimes were there for weeks at a time to get them going. Then we created and stood up all the initial Marketplace plans. They didn't blink when they let us go in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Most of us were not close enough to retirement age to actually get to retire, and needed a job. Fortunately, most of us were really good at what we did and found suitable employment pretty quickly. These latest layoffs are not new, just reruns of the previous C-suite's greedy mindset. And our incompetent director, who had no experience with health insurance, left shortly after the 2021 layoff with her friends she kept on, when she realized, oops, we let the ones go that actually knew the job. Funny nobody told her good luck, goodbye or don't let the door hit ya. The other good ones left our department as it began it's descent, either transferring out or just leaving the company. Good luck all who just got laid off. If you were good at your job you'll find a new one soon. If you didn't get laid off this round, there will be plenty more coming. Be prepared and ready to roll on to somewhere new with your head held high.

10000% agree. I’m getting out before it happens. A company I was once proud to be a part of is now an embarrassment.
