Centene + Wellcare, twice the employees, total 50,000 and same departments doing exactly the same, it is not a brainer they have to downsize, the question is how, when, who, where, they won't do it the right way for sure, takes a lot analysis and they do not have the will and the way, I believe more layoffs are coming, they will be little by little to avoid regulations and red flags
@3afp+19W0KTVH Please stop lying to people! You know as well as everyone here there are more layoffs coming. True it may take time but not all year be realistic. People was laid off in February, we are almost in April! 3,000 people have not been laid off yet!
Please don’t drive yourself crazy letting these people over work and under pay you, if you are on the layoff list nothing will change that, do what you been doing. Just like I’m doing.
I wish I was laid off, this play is a disaster and about to crumble. My friend that was laid off I told her I wish it was me, it’s always warning before distribution and believe me, destruction for this company is coming! Major changes are in the works, we’ll all see just how much this company don’t and never did care about us!
Really, are you going to believe HR when they say "you are safe for now" and the "big layoff is done?" Of course they are going to say that so they can crank out as much work as possible and then screw you royally in the end. Don't fall for it. The avalanche is coming.

From HR perspective since I worked in that area. After a massive layoff, HR is so busy dealing with post layoff work that I doubt if they have any time to process a new set of layoffs. 3000 folks is a hell of a lot of work to perform more so if anyone decides to sue for age discrimination. Payroll is working extra to deal with all the packages. Ethics has to deal with any post issues with the signed documents.
So yes, this post is nonsense. Yes, in the future there will be changes but probably not as large as this one and will not be as public. Maybe 20 here or 30 there.
You are safe for the time being. Like I said, layoffs take work to get you out. Takes lots of planning and payroll estimates and legal issues.
They did the big one. They are still processing the big one. HR will take the summer off. Wait until end of the year.

I find it odd that people want to post such vague statements without any sort of detail like the state or department that said lay offs are occurring. No kidding more layoffs are coming - we all know this is the Centene way!
Sad to say but this is true! Don’t get to comfortable! VPs, Directors and Supervisors are plotting their next victims. When my friend was laid off she was forwarded her email regarding her severance from the director that was sent from HR at almost 11pm so they are still plotting and working around the clock!

Being part of the most recent layoff I don't find this comical. It was life altering after over a decade of being employed by Centene with a good income and in the middle of a pandemic being let go for no reason other than age + good income. Think before you post.......
