Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

The Ambetter Team is either blissfully ignorant or just burying their heads in the sand

No one at the rank and file level even seems to be aware of the cliff approaching in January. They just keep scurrying around like rats while the ship sinks. Amazing dissonance going on. 😂

@30j Read your own message. You are right, they aren’t sharing information. And that’s the problem. There’s little transparency in this company but much hypocrisy. Kinda goes against the CenTEAM ethos, huh?

@OP so because they aren’t sharing the doomsday scenario that could be happening you think they’re “pretending”?

In what world or corporation would leaders (and I’ve got AWESOME leaders from the manager, director to the VP) blatantly say what you think should be said, hmm?

But more importantly why is this funny to you? You think it is funny that Ambetter employees could face layoffs? Why is that funny to you?

I’m on the Ambetter team. Curious for OP to come back and say who is acting like they claim and why it is so funny to them.

Context please. How and where are they acting like this?

Sad really. There’s some very talented, good people on the Ambetter team. I hope they can turn it around.

Instead of celebrating wins it should be called mourning losses. As in the impending loss of your job. Then your health insurance, your house, your car, etc.

@nx in a meeting titled “Celebrating Wins”! How out of touch can one company be. Read the room. Or at least read all the data coming in that indicates mass layoffs ahead!

I'm currently sitting in a meeting "celebrating wins" when a report last week showed about 75% of our plans members were unpaid. I work in a state that 95% of consumers were receiving subsidies so, I can't imagine it's going to get better.

If your job or work you manage is heavily tied to marketplace, brace for impact.

@ab There’s some early reports that enrollment hasn’t declined as projected even with the end of the subsidies. That said, enrolling in an ACA and actually paying the premiums starting January are two vastly different things. My own personal opinion is that people signed up with the deadline in less than a week and will see if an extension can be worked out in Congress. If not, last one out of the ACA please turn out the lights.

Only question is...how big will the layoffs be?
