So we're all in the same boat. Apart from those with a non tax paying side business. We're all equal but some are more equal than others. Oink oink. Stronger together ?

@2gpa+1ms6sLDI So what difference would it make if a union was in.If people are going to lose their jobs anyway then I don't understand what damage a union could do.Whats the fear of a union?
What damage could it do if the damage is already done?

you pro union sheep / broken records should get a grown up to read the Q3 financial report to you….
There’s a large number of people about to lose their jobs and youse are on about ‘fighting’ for pay rises and more holidays.

@2phs+1ms6sLDI So what harm could a union do if seagate is already doomed?? Would it not be better for a union to be in and fight for better redundancies? Would you not like to see people get what they are worth and for them to receive a good redundancy package.I don't understand your aversion to unions.Im asking you a serious question here. What damage could a union do if they got in?

@2wod+1ms6sLDI it's black and white. There's no money and they are in the minus you believe otherwise it's on u. It's a fact the company is in danger another fact. So whilst everyone worries about their wee union recognition. Ppl who know what's going on are worried about the bigger pic. A union is the least of Seagate's problem. The very very least.

@2put+1ms6sLDI or Have your soupy.Same person but youve went anonymous because you embarrassed yourself yesterday with your lies. Now youre saying redundancy is coming to us all.Thought you worked your way up then took redundancy. What are you doing in this site. You still have the same spelling mistakes, still using the same turn of phrase. You haven't even the sense to try and change the way you write. Are Paddy Norm? Or Sock McC.Naw you couldn't be one if them.Even they have more sense than you.

@2cna+1ms6sLDI means nothing to me or anyone else. That's how simple u are ur that hung up thinking ppl care. Your that deluded in thinking anyone gives a toss everyone is laughing at the stupidity of it. Enjoy your 1.5 week for every year redundancy. It's coming to us all. Only some are capable of getting another job.

Is that the best you can do.Is that what you think will stop people from joining a union or get people to leave the union by saying someone is getting money for getting the numbers up.Youre deluded if you think that way and none of your attacks will make a difference to the union numbers.

@2qnj+1ms6sLD Read back what you wrote. You say those least able to afford another bill.Theyre least able to afford another bill because of Seagates low wages.A wage rise well below inflation.A union will fight for a pay rise.Seagate will make redundancies whether there is or isn't a union in seagate. Its not the unions fault.A union won't make seagate any worse to work in,if you are so concerned about people not being able to afford bills then join the union and fight for a payrise.

Sick policy will be changed for everyone. Only operator sick is an issue. As for union busting you all followed like lambs to the sla-ghter. All to get the job for boys a wee cushy union rep role. Wait to u see how he represents u. Can't take knickers off a bare ar-e as they say. Your brave leader posts flat out on his wee Facebook page blocks everyone else and takes it down when he sobers up. Look at the date of birth for the creator of the Facebook linked to none other than old Bobby sands I wonder who in there would of thought that up. Wouldn't be following him if u knew what he really stood for.

There is nobody getting a 2nd wage out of any subscriptions...and as for "500 misguided souls", surely the huge number of members in itself tells you something...people are pi---d off, and want a fair deal.....and for your information the number of members is actually close to 550 👍

Also ask yourself why are a couple of individuals fighting so hard for a union? Is it because they are wile interested in another wage out of all those subscriptions?

I wouldn't be one for the sailing at all, so won't be captaining any ships any time soon.
But I'll say this, why are Seagate fighting so hard against a union ? Ask yourself that question.
It's about control, something they don't want to lose, or share.

‘Union bashing’
‘propaganda’
Lmao
Con men promising everything to those who can least afford another monthly bill in union dues. Now Changing message to ‘stopping getting people getting sacked for nothing’…?
Reality check - people will be getting sacked because the company is F&&kd.

@2gax+1ms6sLDI For how many years have they made huge profit and handed out poor payrises and poor bonuses? You are obviously not on operator wages because if you were you would have a different opinion.

I see the STST have their fan boy propagandists out in force to spread their lies, negativity and union bashing.Maybe the union won't get a payrise for employees, but what they will do is stop people getting sacked for nothing.HR and management will be more wary of trying to sack people. Also they will fight for more holidays. Why are you so against a union?? Why the union bashing?

Yes they have made loads of money. Who told you they have plenty of money to increase their wage bill? Maybe the union rep that conned you into a monthly subscription?
Seagate prefers to spend its money on dividends.
Anyone expecting pay rises or bonuses be better head to one of the ‘plenty of places’. I bet you’d still cry about things there too.

@1oza+1ms6sLDI Seagate still made huge money over the last few years. They have the money to give pay rises. They just don't want to.Plenty of places in Derry that pay better hourly rates than Seagate.

They won't be changing the sick policy unless it is changed for all employees top to bottom. The reason being is that to remove it from one group ie Operators would be discrimination so it won't happen!!

"Have your Soupy" is right. Half the operators got in when no qualifications were needed and probably wouldn't get a job anywhere else. They definitely wouldn't get a job that pays the salary we get, the free private health care, subsidised canteen and profit share (normally). Try applying for a job in somewhere like E&I and asking for all that. No chance!

Enjoy paying money for your Union fees and getting nothing in return. If the company isn't selling drives how do you expect a Union to negotiate a pay rise? Better sticking your cash in the S&R Christmas draw, if the tombola works this year. Or go get a job at Wheelers.

Who said I didn't want to be here? I have given 20 years service, the pay is cr@p now compared to years ago, but I am holding out for severance. I worked in factories for 6 years before Seagate for piece rate, so don't preach to me about knowing what other jobs are like. All Senior Supervisors and above look down their noses at operators. It ain't easy coming to work on nights and weekends, for a few pence over minimum wage to hear your opinions of how little we are valued. That's again for that

@qke+1ms6sLDI if you don't like it why are u there. Cause u know u want get it that easy anywhere else. Go try e&I u wouldn't last a week. Try Tesco cause they work harder than any operator in there. Operators in there with over 20 years service haven't worked anywhere else. They have no idea what it's like out there. And boys took that company for a ride with the sick any wonder it's fighting back. I'd of got rid of a pile of they worked for me disgraceful. Whole towns laughing at how they are e &I workers don't get half what Seagate do.

Yeah, you were such a good worker 15 years ago when the wages were decent and you took redundancy. Who are you kidding. Stop deluding yourself. 80% of the operators in here with 20 years service would jump at the chance of 4 weeks severance. Wages aren't comparable to years ago for working weekends and nights

@zbj+1ms6sLDI I was an operator and moved up. No d1-k rider at all but anyone of u says u put in 12 hours hard graf is a liar.. I've plenty of friends in there and worked there nobody is hard done by. Not a days work in the people in there when I was there ppl needed qualifications to get in now it's full of stoners boys who can barely write their own name. Boys on pretend sickness the whole outside world knows Seagate is full of boys who can't put in a day never mind a shift. Wouldn't happen when 15 years ago. Jokers

I've said before and i will say it again, that if there is a redundancy for operators and its voluntary, they will be ki-ling each other to get the redundancy. They will get whatever number they need with no problem at all.Theres better paying jobs in derry and further afield. As much as management think STST is the be all and end all of employment in derry ,they are completely wrong.

@Have your soupy I know plenty of operators that left Seagate and said it was the best thing they've ever done. Most places pay a more hourly rate than Seagate pay operators.Im betting you still work in Seagate but you are one if those d1-k riders that would work for £5 an hour because Seagate is your life.If you left Seagate years ago, what are you doing on a layoff board.Worry about your own job.
