Any update from the person who said there were 20 teams left in regards to ramping down tech in 2024? is it over? is there any new word about future layoffs as a whole?

What exactly is being looked at in terms of Verint right now?

They’re looking heavily at badge logging reports for RTO and Verint reports right now for Medicare teams. Not sure if this will result in any layoffs before the end of the year but definitely seems like something is coming.

I'm band 2 and I would appreciate a $20M bonus but I'll also settle for $1M.

In the beginning of 2023, Cigna leadership made the decision to replce employees with more consultants to reduce cost. Now that we’ve spent time training those consultants and money training the remaining employees, both American employees and consultants will be further laid off in February and June 2024 to make room for cheaper offshore labor. Cigna is throwing away its knowledge base and the American middle class. We would do better cost cutting by not paying band 6 and above their enormous bonuses, but of course that will never happen. Honestly, who needs a $20M bonus every year?

Are those two consultant or employees?

I'm in IT. Two of my good friends on teams I work very closely with were laid off Friday. I found out today (12/12/23) that they were gone. I texted one of them. He said he cannot comment yet because he hasn't received all of his paperwork from Cigna.

if there are more layoffs approaching, its pretty sad to hear that cigna is buying back $10b worth of shares instead of investing it into employees

responding to: IT confirmed today, software developers will be “ramped down” for 2024. Official Communication from Cigna leadership will come tomorrow. Vendors communicated today to the developers affected. These team members are active until 12/31 or they may leave before. I lost 10 developers for 2024 and there are 20 or so teams left to go.

do you me contractors are getting laid off? Are you in charge of 20 teams and have to cut from every team?

It is consultant's turn now. Most of them are contactors, not employees, right?

response to Post ID: @1fft+1pW4GgBh:

So the developers notified today are gone by 12/31, but there are also 20 or so more teams to be cut by then? or cut later down in 2024?

I am personally grateful that people are willing to share anything at all. Of course we all want to know how this will affect us personally, but any information is better than being left in the dark. I would never want or expect someone to put themselves at risk for over sharing.

It’s almost as if this shouldn’t have been said unless you’re going to be more specific….

Also won’t say my area but we have a call later to discuss org changes (apparently doesn't impact our team directly) that will be announced later today.

I won't say my area, too specific, but we have a meeting to discuss org changes today. I also received a goodbye email from a friend in software engineering. I will assume anyone personally affected would have been notified before that meeting invite was sent out.

Can confirm. Some software engineers I work with were informed that they were going to be let go. Purely budgetary, not performance based. Told it was "across Cigna" but nothing more specific.

Think the official announcement is tomorrow.

Can confirm. Just notified of re-org and cuts in my area. Wasn’t cut personally, but part of the re-org. Others will be notified shortly.

This just seems like someone is stirring the pot. Emotions are already high. Please don’t post such statements unless you have something to back it up with.

As much as a I love a dramatic statement, I would love even more to have some clarification on the who/what/when/where/why.

Is this a big cut across the board or only affecting a specific team within each market?
