I downloaded the WFR policy today. It still has a 12 week max. The document was updated this month. Of course it could change anytime.

Someone here mentioned about severance policy change - for mass layoffs it is capped for 6 weeks (max) irrespective of tenure.

If someone doesn’t buy them fairly soon there won’t be a Gainwell left from the poor management of cash and operations.

Bankruptcy isn’t far off.

Recently laid off Finance team member here - Mass layoffs are commonplace when company is sold. Wipro or Cognizant have cash reserves to buy Gainwell. These large consulting firms have presence worldwide ~300K+ healthcare employees worldwide. Discussions already underway to help ramp up in GW India.

Trish there is absolutely no way to increase your job security at Gainwell.

Each day that goes by makes it more uncertain.

Each day that goes by increases the likelihood that you will be cut.

Isn’t it great?

Just stressing and worrying daily if you will have a job tomorrow.

Reach out and thank a Gainwell employee now for that feeling.

Completely Not True that previous WFR’s have been performance based; I’ve witnessed recent WFRs where the former employee consistently ‘Exceeded Expectations’ multiple years and on multiple reviews and received consistent merit based pay raises.

Look, it is either Jan or Feb 2024 but mass layoffs are around the corner. As an employee, it is always stressful if you are earning a lot for doing little to no work/ output not worth the $$$ you are making. We all know who they are - VPs, Dirs, Principals etc.
But, people who will be let go are junior to middle level who will be replaced easily with GW India new hires.
Don’t Hang around for just few more weeks/months of paychecks, plan to exit soon ….good luck with your job hunt!!

When I talk to someone that asks me where I work I tell them that I work for Gainwell. But I tell them how bad of a company they are. I am honest that they sc--w their customers and steal tax money that pays them. That they are a massive drain on the government and a huge part of the problem of people dependent on welfare. How the leaders don't care about their employees and how they fire people at will without even caring about it. How they only value money and their ego. I tell them how I hate the company. How I hate the leaders. How I hate Veritas. How I hate the work. How I hate my coworkers for choosing to stay at such a bottomless pit of darkness. I tell them how Gainwell is the most toxic place in the world to work. That they probably should have an award from the Guinness book of world records for most toxic company. I tell them how the company is unethical and a bunch of liars that should be investigated for fraud.

And they all ask me the same thing. “Why do you stay working at a place like that?”

My answer is always the same. “Because I am collecting data to blow the whistle on the whole law breaking violation. Whistleblowers get kickbacks for moneys that were fraudulently stolen. And these states are massive contracts of hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Layoffs are always going to be a thing for a Gainwell Technologies. Everyone working for them has to accept that. They aren’t going away. There isn’t some magical number that will be reached that will make them stop. They will simply be massive layoffs and smaller layoffs, but they will always be part of Gainwell as long as Gainwell exists.

There is no plan to right the ship. The plan is to continue to deceive the customer. Lie to gain more business. Cut heads when finances get tight. And ha e plenty of expendable employees in the barrel to shoot when needed.

This is the reality of Gainwell. It will never be a good place to work. By taking a job with them you accept that reality. By staying employed with them you accept that reality.

If a manager is looking at this site that ought to tell you something.

Manager here.

We don’t know until the layoffs happen. In the past I was told the day before I needed to select people on my team for layoff. Other times I was told who was being laid off.

We are just as in the dark as you are. All we have is gut feelings about if our team is safe or not.

In my particular case I asked my VP about layoffs. They told me that we cannot predict them and that they will continue to happen. They reminded me that we are all a number in a company this size and told me to keep my resume up to date.

I felt like they were as real with me as they could be.

Why is my supervisor speaking so confidently about the company going and doing so well, and there are no news or concerns of layoffs in our Medicaid account? Are supervisors in general not informed of the looming layoffs at all until it hits the day of? She sounds pretty oblivious of what is being said here.

So let me understand here.

Gainwell takes advantage of states by making promises they can’t keep and demanding payment for it. Then you take advantage of Gainwell by doing as little as possible and commanding a higher salary than you deserve.

Wow. No wonder things are so fu---d up.

A couple of offended old timers.

Sounds like the poster was right about them getting pi---d.

Funny how one of them thinks they can dictate what people should be talking about on this site.

Old timers somehow think that since they are an old timer that they have some kind of authority over those that aren’t.

Another old-timer here on a long-term account. I work from home and have a side hustle that makes me approximately 50% of my Gainwell salary. The side hustle becomes bigger every month. No other day job has that perk :-)

If/when I lose my GWT job, I lose it. Until then, this is a sweet deal. No real work, no travel, no system improvements. It is like working for the government and making twice the money.

Old timer here. We know the truth. It probably bothers us less because we've been through it all before. We know we will be ok no matter what happens. All the ones I work with are still doing good work, not just sitting around. I don't see anyone on here defending Gainwell. There's enough drama without you trying to create an age based rift.
Let's stick to sharing wfr news and rumors. Thanks

Start speaking the truth about Gainwell and the so called old timers, that came from another now defunct company, get pi---d off real quick.

The data doesn’t lie. On paper there is not one good thing about Gainwell.

Why wait? I don’t understand. Just leave. The grass is greener for sure. The grass at Gainwell is pretty much dead.

I can believe this. The CEO in the TH even said it. The end of the quarter for GWT is March and those loans are due from that acquisition. The will continue to pretty up the WFR and be hush hush abt it until u get that meeting invite. It’s really nothing personal this is what corporate does. You gotta have multiple streams of income these days so u will always have a cushion.

If it is true what one of the posters mentioned that the next one is based on comp not performance, watch out.. All the recent bigwigs who have arrived, look at their LI profile.. They are all coming from companies which are heavy into offshoring...

A growing trend on here is that someone will post upcoming layoffs and others will basically say it can’t be true or try to question the poster and claim they don’t believe them. But from what I have seen nearly every post about upcoming layoffs has been accurate.

Just because you don’t want something to be true doesn’t make it not true. You can’t will layoffs not to happen. They are going to happen. Gainwell is not a good company. And every old HMS or EDS or whatever old company employees need to realize that those companies are gone. You work for Gainwell now. No one cares about the old days. We are now faced with Gainwell being a cr-p company ran by incompetent and uncaring leaders. You mean nothing to them.

At this point there is no defending Gainwell.

So get ready. The layoffs are going to ramp up. And the build up in India is going to happen.

If you choose to stay then you are assuming the risk of losing your job suddenly and having to deal with the cr-p leadership.

Yep through March at least it’s going to be ugly. Massive layoffs and more restructuring.

A bloodbath is an understatement.

Layoffs every other week will continue. Then the big date of 1-20-2023 for the heavy layoffs to begin.

Good luck everyone. It is probably advisable to leave before all that happens. No guarantee of a severance at all.

This waiting game is so exhausting and the anxiety is ki-ling me. However, I could not just quit because I have bills to pay, could not even land an interview and unemployment will certainly help. So how does one get added to their layoff list?

For the next few months? Not very safe at all. For the next few weeks? Probably 50-50. January/February is going to be a bloodbath.

And there will be a massive layoff on January 20th 2024.
