PARASITES!!!
@2xeo+1jhkl8rM- My experience with India is often the exact opposite of what you have narrated... which just goes to show that stereotyping is difficult and error prone, so shouldn't probably be attempted.
By the way, India is not exactly cheap either, any more. There are cheaper locations available...if one was inclined to take the punt.
Hey just google it, yes India labor cost is low
Wages are low in India because labour productivity in India is low. We can even say that wages are in fact the same everywhere--relative to productivity that is. Low wages mean productivity is low, high means it's high, and relative to output it costs the same amount everywhere.
You get what you pay for, the US and UK IT technical people can do more in a day than almost all India resources. This is FACT! I've seen members of my team with tons of CERTS, but they still go to the US guy with no CERTS, but knows how to debug a problem.
@1fop+1jhkl8rM
On planet Earth, most clients have abandoned "cheap" and opting for "quality" , accepting that it would come for a cost..
- which will be lesser than the cost of sc--w up that "cheap" is guaranteed to do.
Well business goes where there is plenty of labour at a reasonable cost - seems like DXC is doing the right thing. They just need to ensure that there are leaders who set priorities to the offshore teams and make this company profitable. Hope that happens.
@ipb+1jhkl8rM - only thing they will be doing in UK and EMEA are more closures of offices and more WFR - offshoring more to cheaper locations like India (to get to Mikey's $500m saving target) and selling more of the business off - like DC's.
This is true, and clearly targeted at their go forward staffing plan and centers. Please don't expect same in UK and EMEA unless you just like to be fooled.
@ipb+1jhkl8rM- Them being shamed into doing something good for employees?I won't be holding my breath.
Hopefully they have been shamed into doing this in the U.K. and EMEA
sorry for the typo... please read as "raises and promotions"
