I work in an internal role (not for a health plan) and we’ve been hearing rumblings of a big reorg coming. I also see dozens of internal roles recently posted on LinkedIn. Anyone know what’s going on? Is this an impending layoff?

Yup. It sounds like they’re having your team shadow the team you’re “helping” with the ultimate goal of laying them off and having you take over. Centene is notorious for assigning new roles and lowering your pay - or telling you that you’ve maxed out your payband and won’t be eligible for any raises for several years.
Large portion of our team temporarily reassigned to assist another team for a few months. Should we be worried this is a permanent move? If this ends up a transfer and pay scale is lower than our current salaries should our team expect pay cuts?
We would love to see these PL demoted that these posters are describing in these posts. It would save money and company reputation. There should have been a better listening party to know what’s going on because reading this website is disappointing disheartening and downright disgusting to know what others are experiencing. A disgrace to people that provide healthcare services to vulnerable members. Good luck everyone!
I’m a passionate professional with 25+ years of specialized experience. To be blindly assigned a new position with zero input or consideration of my skillset is a complete slap in the face. Then, the pay reduction is just the cherry on top. I was asked to essentially ‘take it or leave it’. I have to give my answer before I’m even allowed to review the severance package in writing.
"You were at least offered a new position or a severance, so how are they “pushing you out”?
You know that A LOT of people would love that opportunity? I wish I was given that choice."
Curious as to why YOU think that because you weren't given that option that somehow this person should not feel some sort of way about it. This is exactly how they push people out. How do you know they weren't given the choice of a new role that was actually a demotion with a reduction in pay? I know of three people personally that this has happened to. Like its not bad enough they refuse to pay people enough to live and have pulled every incentive off the table? Now they expect you to bend over, take one for the team, and kiss their feet for the "privilege" of continuing employment with them ALL because the C-Suite can't make good business decisions? Maybe just maybe the idea that an ultimatum was even there at all says that the company really does not value this person = hence they are expendable. Maybe its cr-ppy that other people that were RIF'd were not given that option and maybe they dodged a bullet - but it doesn't take away from this person's experience. And don't pull the "be happy you have a job" bullsh-t just so you can make yourself feel better by devaluing others.
I don’t doubt layoffs are coming. They are making it impossible for us to work and be successful - increasing production and quality metrics , yet lowering number of audits we will get so they are putting ppl in a place to have to have 100% accuracy or you fail, get put on a pip and fired = no severance they have to pay. Just fire ppl instead.

It’s true. Got the call yesterday. I was given the choice between a completely new role or a severance package. They’re pushing us out.
Yep, rumor is layoffs already started or about to start.
Of course it does. Anytime a company reorganizes it ends in layoffs. The timing is spot on ---- right before the Holidays is the usual fashion. My spidey senses say that my department is going to be one of them - judging by the way we are suddenly having to ask for work all the time (and I mean 4 - 5 times a day now) and they seem to suddenly have none for us (because they are offshoring it all).
