At my store the payroll system is down. This requires us to fill out a sheet of paper with hours worked. We are not receiving accurate pay. And we have no way to check to see if our paid hours are correct. Microsoft manager is not working for some of us. Employees are working the job of 3. And emotionally degrading dictatorship rules. Managers claim they have no answers.

The same bad Christmas music as last 2 years. Same cr-p different year. 25 jobs for each person. Just yesterday I was thinking - omg this feels like Groundhog Day.

Something is extremely ‘off’ with Belk leadership, especially above the store level, I can’t necessarily put my finger on it, but it’s almost like a cult, and if you question things or ask why something has been changed, you are immediately ostracized as a manager and made to feel like an outcast. When I noticed Belk has this type of work culture, I immediately left the company, luckily my husband works so I could take time to find a new job, but I would warn anyone against taking a management position in this company, it may be ok at first, but eventually it will turn out bad. youve been warned.

@2wec. Isn't that the definition of insanity, repeating the same act over and over but expecting different results. That's Belk.

My walkthroughs are always the same.
We discuss elevation, recovery issues, merchandising issues, and yet I’m not given payroll hours to fix anything. It’s like Groundhog Day every time. Does anyone else feel this way too?

1gwd---Belk's customer base is not a 'digital' type customer. Older, bargain shopper, senior citizen, lower or fixed income, somewhat rural, minority, it's base is much different than bed, bath and beyond. I don't see it at all.

They will go digital...they are forcing the website to have a vaule ( app downloads ) new digital ads ....an with the strength of the credit card it might stick around after they close the stores ....think bed bath and beyond restructure to website only

Credit penetration is down because customers don't want to use Belk cards because of the extreme interest rate. Customers are closing Bcc because of the monthly charge for paper statements.

They are trying to create the illusion they are interested in the business when they really are not. Just walk into any Belk store and you can see it for yourself. It's sad, but true.

They don’t want results
Eventually the top brass wants to file bankruptcy, liquidate all stores and get a big payout

They are spending lots of $$ ....without results ....how are your walkthrough going? A conservation about results? No ....lots of conservation about elevating, but it's not giving us results
