Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Is anyone left at the (old) Midtown ATL HQ?

Former employee here, I drove past the 8th Street HQ the other day, what a sad sight. The tech bar and demo space on the ground floor (along 8th) have been vacated and it looks like most floors in the north tower are empty, too. I guess Atleos employees are not long for this world -- will they move to Brinks? -- and the stock market seems to have given up on Voyix. I'm guessing Fun Thursdays left with Mike and Owen. (And nobody should give those guys a pass on what happened to NCR -- a lot of this could've been avoided if they'd acted sooner.)

Anyway, that's a lovely carcass of an HQ. I hope it finds a worth tenant soon.

Many long tenure employees who are mostly in leaderships become complacent. They don’t want to changes with the market, and only keen to build empire. Another story of Nokia and Kodak is in the making. Even over 100 years company is not spared for being complacent and refuse to change according to market demand.

The tech bar got moved to a windowless room next to shipping with about a sixth of the space and two techs on staff.

You have to wonder if the Gov. of GA at the time (Perdue as I recall and the mayor of Atl are having “buyers remorse”. All of the tax breaks, favors, hype, etc. that are now just “dust in the wind”.
Or did they get big kick backs and payoffs to Nuti and his team of crooks?

The Dayton World Headquarters was perfect, driving up to it was grand, the huge front lawn perfectly manicured with the world flags. The Green glass, the cafeteria was the best.
It was the beginning of the end when NCR cut ties with Dayton, at that point the company’s lost it’s honour and dignity.

The real sadness was the closing of the Dayton OH HQ, that represented a time of growth and peak NCR over many decades.

The move to Atlanta did nothing except ki-l off the company faster. Maybe upper management got better flights for their world tours.
Atlanta GHQ was a mistake from the get go.
