Why hasn’t the union said anything about the meeting? Did it even take place?

It seems odd that the unions are against mandatory vaccinations when the party they support on The Hill is the party that's been spouting off about mandates being a good thing and everyone should just be good little guinea pigs.

Of course AT&T intends to move forward with mandate. Same with Verizon. And CWA intends to continue to be against the mandate. As it is, there’s nothing AT&T or Verizon could do about it either. They are stuck with the prospect of CBAs and the consequences from failing at that. Perfect timing to extend the contract past 2023.
So?
And, as AT&T intends to move forward with the mandate, CWA has effectively LOST.
Impasse

Impasse means negotiations have failed as both sides are still in disagreement. AT&T is still mandating, but the CWA did not roll over & agree to mandate as was implied in this thread. There can still be a strike during an impasse. So nothing has changed. The union has not caved as was implied.
Result is the same as if they had agreed.
To summarize these negotiations, because CWA would not agree to AT&T's insistence on a COVID-19 vaccine mandate, the parties inevitably reached an impasse and the Company intends to invoke their legal right under federal labor law, to implement their COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
CWA never agreed to any mandate with AT&T

The CWA folded like a cheap suit to AT&T mandate demands. The CWA is a money laundering operation for the Democrats. What makes anyone think they will fight the mandate here?
Fire every pro-mandator first. Smarmy people like that are backstabbers & will be a threat to your job. Just get rid of them via RIF or if in a union job, move them as far away as possible to a job they don't want. Preferably a non-desirable shift, overnight if possible. Problem solved.
Fire every anti vaxxer, enough of the cow towing to needle cowards
@2ukg Larger united front? What are you going to do, go on strike? Please, you vicious scabs were very condescending and unsympathetic towards us and crossed our picket lines time after time. Of course we laughed when you realized it wasn’t as easy as putting two wires together, when you all couldn’t even figure out how to remove a ladder off of a truck.
You made the choice to not be in a union and work in management or in a non-union position. You now have to deal with the consequences of your choices.
Unions will get hit too. They're just splitting us up so they hammer non union first, then go after unions. If they did both at the same time, we'd have a larger united front to fight.
Some people are sure angry that the CWA will not be part of the mandate, that’s for sure. Hey, nobody told you to go into into management or or work for VZ wireless. You made that choice. Deal with it.
The union is selling you out as usually just as the company sells out management.
You just wait. Better roll up those sleeves or get your resume ready. Union id--ts.
It’s nice not to be part of the mandate. We retire when we want to retire and we get vaccinated if we choose to or not. Thanks CWA.
Associate is just that contracted employees
So it's either contract extension with covid shot requirement.
Work from home to continue until contract expires or extension
Contract extension with wfm permanently with covid shot
Just get the shot you id--t.

No vax for CWA or IBEW represented employees. The company got what they wanted and all the publicity out of it. The public perception is that the mandate was company-wife. most in the general public will just assume every Verizon employee is vaccinated.
Time to move on.
There’s nothing really to say. It’s gonna be get the shot or get out. The only thing this meeting will do is clarify any questions, like if the employee is out on disability or has 1 shot by deadline, or like medical or religious exemptions.
