Is AIG mandating that workers return to their offices? What happens if you don’t comply? Will you be fired? Will you be eligible for unemployment or does AIG claim you “resigned” and fight your unemployment claim?

ID: @2tyy+1uQg47aA, you’re clueless. Most offices were not 5 days a week in office, and the favored remote workers didn’t come in at all like most of the shared service groups. This is a lawyers’ dream case, not using consistent analytics to measure return to office compliance. We get zero reporting showing our in office days have been counted. They’ll have you sign a form promising not to sue in return for your severance package. They purchase your silence.
Yes, you would go back to what you were doing COVID .Unless , your management tries to get it expanded. As far as there not being any fanfare for people being laid off, there never was . There's a script for the layoff itself. When you saw the coworkers packing up you would walk over and shake their hand and wish them well. Then there was usually dept meeting informing their coworkers of their departure. That's it.
Depends on your group I guess. Pre-Covid, my department works remotely 3 days a week.

A few weeks ago I answered nature's call in a bathroom stall sandwhiched between two coworkers answering their own calls. They had nice shoes as far as I could tell. Then I returned to my cubicle and watched a recent layoff pack up and leave without any fanfare. Not even so much as a handshake and a sad box of donuts as a send off after decades of service. Office culture 💪.

It’s confirmed 4/5 days back and more layoffs beginning after thanksgiving.
Fyi, the current plan is to move towards a mandatory four days in office. The process will begin implementation during 2025.
Aig is already well known in the market for being a sinking ship, if they cancel WFH who ever will join if not some newbie looking for working experience? In any case, maybe in America and UK where workers have no rights it may be possible, not sure about Europe...
They are going to lay you off anyways why bother. Someone in corebridge got fired by the CIO for not following the show up for work protocol. The CIO by doing this saved money for the company and is going to get company share.
If you don’t comply they lay you off and if you do comply they will stay lay you off. Best decision for everyone here is to go join Chubb or Dellwood.
