Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Has anyone went back in the Hudson office. I know it opened this week

If so what's it like?

@3ovt+1gk7hGC0 if you think going into the office is superior to working from home, you are incredibly unintelligent.

The benefits of WFH are numerous, far outweighing working from the office. "Micromanage me harder, daddy" is what you'll get from going to the office. I guess you prefer not being treated like an adult and allowed to do your job without someone looking over your shoulder.

And who cares about vulgarity? what are you, 5? "Oh, someone said a bad word". Get over yourself, just because you're a snowflake does not detract from the point made with some colorful language. This isn't Twitter, you don't get to exist in your echo chamber.

@2jiw,
I'm lacking in some things, but I don't know think that intelligence is one of them. The idea that intelligence is predicated on a preference to work from home is pretty far-fetched. Still, I give myself credit for goading you into writing three consecutive sentences without using some form of bathroom vulgarity that all of you WFH'ers seem to embrace.
Best,
@2sxs

@2sxs+1gk7hGC0 hit a nerve? Haha, don't give yourself so much credit. You're the one that things working from the office is superior to WFH... that tells us all we need to know about your lack of intelligence.

@2ook,

@1wil+1gk7hGC0 critiquing my social skills with rambling nonsense, you're doing great!

@1inx, you should continue to work from home. It is apparent that you lack the social and communication skills that would enable you to succeed around others. If your mouth is like your fingers on a keyboard, if you were in the office, you’d keep HR busy.

@1kmt+1gk7hGC0 do you even english, bro? would you prefer "metric fu-k ton" instead? People here are so petty.

Anyway, just because you like being in a fishbowl with other worker bees doesn't make your opinion any more valid. There are people who go into the office and don't do sh-t, and there are people who work from home and don't do sh-t, just like there are people in both environments that crank out quality work.

The problem is Allstate is not holding either of those groups who are not doing anything accountable, which only contributes to the toxic culture of the company.

Make a multi tier offer those who wish to come back can, those who wish to WFH can do so. The micro managers know the production numbers should be easy to compare. The decision should be easy once the bean counters remove pencils from their pocket protectors and crunch the numbers. I am on the fence but I also have a very short commute to the office, I would hate to have hours every day back and forth with fuel prices as they are now. "no trains out west" only miles of traffic back up on the interstate. Remember Allstate will use this topic as another easy way to rid themselves of employees.

@1yb, you are saving a “sh-t ton”? Glad that I don’t have to deal with the stench in your house. You work-from-homers are so articulate.

@1ebu+1gk7hGC0 I personally will quit if forced to come to the office, because I'm not going to go back to commuting 3 hours per day to the Merchandise Mart.

I am significantly more productive from home and am saving a sh-t ton of money on gas and train faire. You sound like a middle manager that doesn't trust their employees... Exactly what is wrong with Allstate.

Our team decided to all go back. We go back in the office in Hudson May 9th. We are looking forward to actually being a team in a normal work environment again. Hopefully the lazies and office c ancers stay working from home where they can hide from responsibility without involving anyone else. You can tell the work ethic by the ones that are all "work from home or I quit". Bye!

No way! It can’t look like a normal office with cubicles and people. If that is true, what can we complain about????
