Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Don't let you guard down employees! Still the same ba-tards running SF!

53,400 employees https://newsroom.statefarm.com/sf-careers/

70,000 employees https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2017/05/04/450094.htm

For the math challenged that is almost 16,600 people who lost their job or were not replaced in 4 years!
I want every single employee to not forget what they have done to you (mostly claims) over the last 4 years and to all the trolls on here that says State Farm does not layoff people! No... they do not announce "official" layoffs! They just lie, scheme, and con people to generally make them miserable so they quit or retire early! AI did not work out, the agent's started screaming, employees quit, and policyholders/lawsuits... fought back! DO NOT ever..EVER...think they have your best interests at heart! They do not! Some of the hiring they are doing is so SF does not go under but remember, they have something else up their sleeve! Always do! More is coming....it's still the same pieces of sh-t making the decisions and Tipsy and PS did not all the sudden find "religion" and starting being employee/people focused leaders! Keep some lube handy...we are all going to need it!

What?? There have never been layoffs? There absolutely have been layoffs. ent tech had the whole “Vivify IT” program in 2017 that led to reduction of 50% of the business analyst type roles and between 10-20% of many other roles, including managers. Pretty much everything was in the chopping block other than software developers. I have 5 close friends that didn’t make it through Vivify and I’m In Richardson where supposedly we only needed a 10-15% reduction compared to the 50% in Bloomington.

That was the first time I’ve seen actual layoffs as opposed to using attrition to dwindle numbers. We’ve absolutely had layoffs.

People on this site who promote SF behavior are in on: THE D-MBING OF AMERICA. SF desperately needs a Elon Musk.

And they stay because they love the work? There has never been a better time in history to switch jobs! OK, the pay is no good then MOVE ON. Nothing like people feeling sorry for themselves and doing nothing to help themselves.

@3vbo. 0 x 0 = 0. Do the math. They still aren't making enough to live a quality life.

@3jgu-leave it to people like you to complain about a 20% salary increase……

What would we do without OP/CB to tell us what’s really happening🙄

@2rnk. OK. Let's look at what you say. Now look at the base salary of each. Add in the salary increase. Inflation at 8.5%. Then look at what it costs to live etc. The lower end salary employee is losing; then, you wonder why retention and quality is in the dumpster? More fine leadership failures. Hard sell.

@1zel-here is how to tell if you are in or out. In the past 9 months higher performing employees have quietly been getting a salary bump mid-cycle between 10% and 20%. These increases have gone to CA and above.

It’s not Yi. It’s the entire organization. Systems snd ET too. Management at its worse. Lazy people getting paid way too much and doing disgusting things to women over a certain age and stalking them and harassing them. Accounting and budgeting at its worst.

Yet they get promotions for doing just that. And having others do their work for them. Sickos And HR and Deloitte amd ET and every area plays this. Wackos with power and stupid systems that lack integrity

Organization fraud and illegal really.

Yes I couldn't agree more with the OP! When I heard my TM tell us they are hiring 10,000 people and 500+ new leaders my first thought was someone is about to get bent over. We all know half will quit after the first year when they experience the working conditions and useless metrics. Makes perfect sense to drive into the office 5 days a month with $4 gas and $2000 a month for an cr---y apartment making $40K a year! I still think more reorg is coming in claims and underwriting that will unload higher salary dollars and force people out so they do not have to pay future or higher pension costs, raises, and EIP/MIP! Tipsy is not taking a cut for sure!!!

Claims employees are stupid more so than any other part of the company. That is why it works.

Tipsturd and Robert Yi mixed the Toxic Formulated Corporate Kool-Aid which all of their Minions/Leadership down to Section Manager's and TM's drank and believe in. They made the Kool-Aid very toxic for claims employees to drink and accept upper Leadership New Weekly Metrics. Claims employees would accept working in the new toxic environment for lower pay and less benefits, heavy workloads and mandatory OT. Creating the Gold Hand cuffs to line their pockets with huge bonus money, MIP money, and salaries for the chosen few. A very feudal company to say the least and trust.

Ba----ds? I couldn’t see it 4 years ago, but the “layoff” was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. They did me a favor, even though I was panic stricken at the time.
I’d shake Tippy’s hand if I met him tomorrow. I still think he and the “leadership” down to Section Manager level are giant lying a$$holes. Don’t get me wrong, I understand everything is much, much worse now, but the “layoff” gave me a much needed kick in the a-s to get me out of there, out of Bloomington, and living a life that is better in so many ways.

Their whole mission is to promise you the moon; then, get rid of you before you get there. If you know that going into the game, you're ahead of their scheme. They got rid of the pension. A risky 401K that is going down by the day all in order to line their pockets with huge bonus money, MIP money, and salaries for the chosen few. A very feudal company to say the least. SF jobs in claims and underwriting is a 2-3 year job at most. Anyone with leadership potential will see the writing on the wall fast. Like 99.9% of the employees of today if they were honest would say it is NOT a career I would recommend to anyone.
