Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Engine and Badge data update

Some engine impacted folks have already been notified. Badges data has been shared with management and troublemakers have been contacted. Things are getting serious. They will delete this thread as well because they dont want any truth to come out. They want to do it silently.

I second that. Being overly active on teams is a sure sign that you are not very busy and need more work.

Being active on Teams isn't going to be recorded by HR when they pull badge numbers. Think of HR as people with the smallest brain and the least amount of empathy for other humans. HR by nature of it's definition is a profession geared to maximize humans like how farmers maximize cattle.
So, no; your productivity "well into the evening & have great performance results" isn't gonna get you anything

Show up the required number of days, do your job, be honest and the rest will work itself out. If something personal comes up and you can’t come in one week just let your boss know. These rumors seem to be getting out of hand. The people that start the rumors are likely egregious offenders that were reprimanded.

Most people I work with have been working remotely, traveling for work, online late at night, none have had issues, some have missed a week or two, but it’s obvious they are working.

At this point all the gossip is just anxiety taking over and creating unnecessary fear and worry. What’s going to happen will happen, you know if you’re not performing, your layoff won’t come by surprise. If it does surprise you, that means you need to reevaluate yourself, other corporations are much worse and are cut throat.

I'm an SE, required to go in 2 days/week.
I show up for the 2 days, but don't make it much over 3 hours in the office. I have not been reprimanded.

That being said, I'm active on teams well into the evening & have great performance results. Curious if these other 2 variables are a factor of who gets these conversations.

@2rku+1uWzQYl3 not sure how they could tell that unless it was in an office that required badging out. Not all facilities do.

@2rku Do you mean somewhere where they treat employees like responsible adults who show up on time and are at work and honestly working the hours that they claim? I suppose if you find a group of employees who do, then that would be such a place. Hope you fit in well and don't break any of their work requirements like showing up and actually working the required hours. It's a shame that companies can't just let us roam free and do whatever we want and still pay us.

Heard that someone in our group got called in because they weren’t badging in for long enough. They were coming in the 3 days as required but not staying enough hours each day.

We’re treated like children. Have 3 applications sent out this weekend, we’ll see how quickly I can go somewhere that treats employees like adults.

They are going to do anything to reduce MFG headcount to make room for ENGINE without a large formal layoff. Badges, bad ratings are all on the table.
