Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

2nd December Pay Raises all round?

Today is the day we find out what Raul & HR have been doing for all those long on the salary review.
Has it actually addressed any of the actual issues or did they just go, here's a small budget, divide it amongst your staff, official advice is 1-2%.
We'll soon find out, good luck everyone.

Speaking to a friend who is a manager, not mine, they are not looking forward to today, so I'm guessing it's the 1% solution

Saw it and wrote it down.
UK Private Sector pay growth: 5.4%
UK Overall pay growth: 5.2%
UK Inflation: 2.8%

Yesterday we had to listen to UKI leadership tell us how DXC is a people company, how much they value us.
Yet they value me even less this year than they did last year.

What was more worrying was the complete surprise and confusion why there were so many questions about pay.

DXC are you proud of yourself?

BBC News this morning:-

Pay growth has picked up for the first time in more than a year, the latest official figures show.

Regular pay grew at a faster-than-expected annual pace of 5.2% between August and October, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said, with wages continuing to grow faster than prices.

I received a 5% increase last year and 2.9% increase this year. I have received bigger increases in percentage and in dollar amount since I Retire from DXC and went on Social Security. I dont make the same amount if money but very close as I invested well

I got 5%, but after 11 years my salary has only increased by 9%. So I'm still well behind market rates. I don't see it ever recovering unless I move on!

My payrise was stolen and given to a useless colleague. Top grade review, hit all my KRAs, really positive feedback from all respondants.
Totally demoralised and demotivated...
What's the point ?

If you want more money in 2025, it is very simple. Not sure why folks didn’t try it in 2024.

Resign and go to a better company who knows how to treat employees with proper compensation.

Good luck to you all.

Even the people who actually got a rise have totally given up. They only got one as they are so far behind the market. The management don't care either. Their idea of managing is just toss work at the team and hope someone picks it up. The company will evaporate soon enough. Hands up who's not using AI to do their CV over Christmas.

Most people ended up with a solid 0. The next largest group received a mere 0-1%, effectively disqualifying them from further increases next years. Meanwhile, our HR leads are jetting around the world at our expense. Shame on you – and Merry Christmas!

God I love this place. Manager here. Bonuses are at our discretion. If we like you you are getting a raise regardless of skill or time in role.

Don't like it then leave. I worked to get where I am so it can obviously be done. Quit ***ching and do something about it.

@6tau+1vNy879h you got 6% and others who worked hard and performed all year got 0%.

What sort of merit system is this. How can there be such a disparity.

Total random or fiddled merit scheme. The managers awarding 0% should be investigated why they did that to good performers.

Finally heard from my manager today. 6%. More than I was expecting. 6% is a decent raise but not when you consider having to have to wait 5-10 years between pay rises.

@6pep+1vNy879h If you could get them to tell you and you believe them. You'll probably be annoyed to hear they still earn significantly more than you even after this years little but inconsequential adjustment. And that's why you got something and they didn't. Or your manager just likes you and not them. Absolutely no balance or fairness in the process.

Myself and a two others in a team of 8 just got 5%. Some who work the same role for the same amount of time got 0%.

No idea how these figures are worked out.

Assume 0% if not heard. The management have been over the moon informing staff that they got 1%. They cannot see it, but the culture is ease into retirement, or stay 18 months and then leave for a better job. The stuff we do is of little interest to anyone under mid fifties. That generation will soon be gone. If they needed the money they wouldn't still be at DXC. The companies ability to deliver is damaged year on year by it's penny pitching. You either invest in the salaries, or the staff and culture. Preferably the right balance of both. DXC isn't doing either. As for go get another job. Well yes, your not wrong, but that still doesn't mean the company is right to say you'll never leave so we'll never give you a pay rise.

So, regardless of what you are or are not getting, everybody should be expecting a phone call of some kind?

Anonymous said "OMG you get a pay increase and you are still bi--hing. Change employment if uts (SIC) that bad" Well, 8 year with no pay raise and then you get a raise of less than 1 percent...WOW. Not sure where you live, but in the US, during those 8 years I'd guess I lost 27% to inflation. Here is the COLA (cost of living adjustment) for people on social security got during those 8 years.
2017 2.0%
2018 2.8%
2019 1.6%
2020 1.3%
2021 5.9%
2022 8.7%
2023 3.2%
2024 2.5%

So ya, still bi--hing, but I won't change employment, this is reason to retire early (Because i can) and give little to no notice when leaving.

I was told that I will not be getting a raise this year since I was promoted this fy.

Is this an official guideline or just up to the whims of the people manager?

UK mgmt couldn't organise a pi## up in a brewery"

That's not strictly true @2irh+1vNy879h :D the Erskine cheer leader squad are organising some virtual fun next Thursday or Friday.
I won't be attending as I will be getting pi---d with colleagues, as is traditional.

What a great summary of prat Brocklehust, sc--wing the UK delivery over, his a walking disaster. He always demands lots of Useless paperwork approvals filling in, but he can never communicate to people on time, so demoralising. I am UK delivery.

"I still haven’t heard a thing. I find the lack of comms/timetable just as insulting as the lack of raises. "

You'll be told by the 13th December.

And you'll be able to see it in workday after the 14th.

I say "see" but make sure you are looking to the right of the decimal point...

@2rfp+1vNy879h Nobody will join the town hall. Is there anyone left who's not given up with this company. The review was a total insult. It made no attempt to distinguish the behaviours the company wants to promote. Your just a resource, they think they can replace it. I'm not so convinced. The long standing staff are the ones who know how the mess hand together. Good luck employing people to work in legacy spaghetti land and actually staying much beyond 18 months.

@2cuz+1vNy879h as a segment 1, rating 1 employee I dream of a 3% raise, so you get my vote.

I wonder what the next town hall will be like, will they be expecting an angry reaction or be surprised we're not all happy?

At least Networks gave to all.
The dodgy Broklehurst choose friends and excluded many good hard workers. No point trying to get a merit, "its who you know, not what you do or achieve" at this company.

Really pi---d off to learn that colleagues who've not lifted a finger all year, have pretty much forgotten how to, or withdrawn from doing the most basic of tasks still get rewarded. It makes a total mockery of the process. @DXC save yourself a small fortune in HR and management time. 3% for everyone and be done with it. Focus on promotions for the good ones and dismissal for the bad. That would encourage the few who still want to make a difference here to work towards promotion, and dissuade the given up but hey you still give me a pay rise brigade from falling below and already low standard. Just expect an ever mediocre service from the rest of us. It clearly doesn't matter what you do, or don't do around here.

My raise got given to other people. No point working hard and delivering, they will find an excuse not to give you something. Its all very un professional. I would have rather had a central percentage than a delegated local manager picking and giving 0 at least I would have got something after years.
