Actually, how you perform is extremely subjective at Capital One. It is NOT really how you perform. This is why the company is so sick. It is overweight with really weak leaders who knew how to play the game. No need to focus on adding value as long as you stroke those who can influence your review in cross calibration. You can do the most incredible work, add value, save millions in project costs by coming up with novel solutions that work better, cost less, etc., but that is one of the least important qualifications. Visibility, self promotion, figuring out how to parlay other's work into your work are key. Kissing butts is the most important competency here.

You can bet all those Women In Tech, Inclusion, etc. is being thrown out the door during layoffs. Those items don’t always align with merit based career progression. Those concepts can get you in the door, but how you perform is entirely up to you.

Is there favoritism based on race and gender? Absolutely, it will also play a factor in keeping someone or letting them go, but a small factor if managers lead with value. Some managers don’t. Then you’re sh-t outta luck.

I think the previous poster was expressing his/her feeling that gender and race are used to discriminate against Dian, white and Asian people? I am not sure what Dian is, but either way, the poster feels that there is some favoritism. You sound nice too!

This company rewards skin color and gender over actually output. All fellow is Dian, white and Asian people should cease carrying this company and let it virtue signal itself into misery
