Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Parking

Well parking will be easier when we cut the 30% of middle management and worthless filler positions. Plenty of fat I see waddling around just waiting to get axed

I’ve heard they are going to start charging those who are unlucky enough to still be around for parking after the cuts.

I dont like parking on the top floor because of the additional driving distance and a parking garage is the most dangerous place you can drive on your commute.

@2r4 How do you every work more if you arrive at different times but always leave at the same time?

Parking isn’t an issue. The roof is always empty. It’s just lazy out of shape slobs that want to park close to the 2 and 3rd floor elevators that are the problem.
What do you call them? Oh yeah. Managers.

3:30, 4, 4:30, 5 are all popular times to leave and are pretty much set times. People may arrive at 6:37 or 7:12, etc. Not a set time. I arrive at an approximate time each day, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. I work my 36 or 44 hour week and leave at about the same time every day. Some days I may work 15 minutes less than 9 hours but other days I work 15 minutes more. The accusations aren't necessary.

Somehow there is never aproblem getting into the parking lot in the morning, but at times in the afternoon have to wait to get out. Could be because of exit onto I10 freeway, could be because people aren't pulling close to 40 hours a week and come late plus leave early. What do you think?

Spans of control should be 8 to 12 depending on the experience level of both the supervisor/manager and the experience level of the group. Properly executed, this span of control will result in no more than 8 levels top to bottom and preferably 6.
