Helix - Update Your Resumes

Not trying to sound alarmist, but after the recent RIF, it’s fair to say things feel uncertain right now. Seeing cuts happen after H1 is definitely out of the ordinary, and if performance targets don’t hit the mark, this could become a pattern. Even if that’s not the case, April isn’t as far away as it seems.

The reality is that nobody ever thinks it’ll happen to them until it does. Staying ready — keeping your resume and LinkedIn current — is just smart practice. It’s not about doom and gloom; it’s about being prepared in case the winds shift again.

Unfortunately it’s that time again. Take the few hours and do it. Haven’t heard of anything one way or another, but always best to be prepared. I’m sure that some will be let go after the holiday and certainly come April.

@3ka+ looks to me that KKR are feeding the helix to the wolves, Helix has no real offices in Aus anymore, the one in Sydney is now just for BMC. Helix were allowed to obtain a basic room, with not much in it. Melbourne helix has no rooms, but they still sneek into the BMC office ATM, and while they can get way with it. KKR doesn't seem to care. This really shows how little value KKR places on Helix—letting it essentially wither on the vine. I don’t see them getting $2 billion for it. They’ll likely either break it up and sell off the parts to interested buyers or hand it over to a third party (maybe Di-ker Data?) to manage on KKR’s behalf.

@3fn two big names impacted in US sales.

Meanwhile heard of two more exits of long tenured, non-controversial and experienced ICs from the post sales side too.

AI can’t (yet) replace experience but this HLT and senior leadership team seem he-l bent on protecting their own positions to the detriment of the rest of the company.

There’ll soon be no one left to do the actual work, and those who do find themselves surviving cull after cull and restructure after restructure no longer has the drive, enthusiasm or passion they may have once had - let alone the inclination to pick up the diabolical levels of nonsense and tasks left behind by those dearly departed.

Everyone is suffering from short sighted, poor and ill thought out HLT and senior LT decisions.

This place either needs a complete LT overhaul or it needs to burn to the ground - and fast.

@2qr I too heard the news yesterday. Extremely unnerving - doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

when they can layoff a 20 year tech sales veteran mid year (October), then TBH no one is safe, (except the ar$e lickers).
