Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

So what does NH career path look like now that EB is the next CEO?

Any ideas?

I can see both of the previous posts, the answer will depend on how aggressive he chooses to be. He has to realize he has been bypassed. If he has the career drive of a sloth, then @2oin is correct, he will just sit around and collect his paycheck until retirement. If he has any pride in himself and desire to actually accomplish something, then @1tfy is correct, he will move into a more challenging position with another company. The trouble will come if he has any non-compete clauses in his contract (standard for people that high up in a company). If that's the case, expect him to retire from Chevron "to spend more time with his family", then 6-12 months later sign on with another company. Yes, I've been around long enough to have witnessed both of these scenarios.

He has reached his Chevron pinnacle. He will do this as long as they will have him, then move to a cushy CEO job at an important competitor like Conoco or, more likely, BP.
