You can think what you want, but I am a hard worker, I always met my goals and had been achieving the highest FPR rating in the last few years. The only time I silently quit was during my final phase of my notice period, because I'd handed most of my duties over to my colleagues who weren't exactly happy to be lumbered with additional work.
Ultimately, the cost of living expenses here in the UK caught up with me and with the lack of a pay rise since forever and now this 'deferred pay increase', well I was left with no choice but to look elsewhere.
I have sensed already that my new employer is better than working for DXC, one of the first things a new colleague said to me was to order 2x 27inch monitors and a stand, so long as the cost is under £250 per moniter, it doesn't need to be authorised. Would DXC offer this home set up? All I was working from was a measly plastic laptop riser.
I've been set my goals - which were reasonable and relevant to my role, none of these silly DXC Values.
We have discussed and created a training plan, where I was able to highlight the kind of skills I want to learn. I can take any Microsoft exam I want for free, without paying up front and having to get re-imbursed. And all other exams/external training will also be provided if the course is less than £2k.
I've had regular manager check-ins, attended well organised scrum meetings, used the IT support team a few times who are quick to respond and resolved my issues resolved almost instantly - with no annoying ticket system.
Yesterday I received an email from the managing director of the company stating how the company understands the economic environment is tough at moment and so they will issue every employee with £500 in December's pay packet, to put towards fuel costs - or to spend on whatever you want!
So overall first impressions are more favourable than the DXC world I've left behind.
