Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Resist, Speak Up, Push back!!

if you think the company needs a solid reason to fire you, think twice... they need none.

we should not wo down quietly!!

most people never realizes how much leverage they actually have, and when they do, they are afraid to use it.

you think its ok that every single DDI its a death march? do you think is normal having to work crazy hours, long evenings and weekends? do you think the company values your sacrifice, neglecting your family and your own health?

do a good job every day, but do not give them anymore than what they pay you for. I'm not advocating for mediocrity or incompetence. Be professional, do a good job every day

But.....

  • Take no BS from any of these glorified A$$holes that call themselves leaders.
  • Call them out on their stupidity
  • challenge their absurd requests aimed at making themselves look good in the eyes of an even bigger A$$hole.
  • Ask them to explain themselves and then challenge their absurd reasons.
  • Stand up for yourself, nobody else is coming to help you.
  • Do what is right... not what you are told!
  • if what they ask you to do is non sense don't do it.

they can fire you for a lot less at any time, so, why go down on your knees?
Do a good job and force these certified a$$holes to do the same. Almost all of them a just bullies and don't know what to do when people stand up to them.

if enough of us do this maybe, just maybe, we still have a chance.

do you think these directors, vice presidents of whatever, principals and other self declared messiah care about you? do you think they will experience any hardship if they lose their job? they will laugh all the way to the bank and then go ruin the next company. They rely on intimidation to get ahead.

do a good job and fight back when necessary, Take no BS from these DBags.

For those taking pride in being “so-called” moral police/judge of Gainwell, ask yourself if -

  1. are you not getting paid for what you signed up for?
  2. is Gainwell doing anything to you despite you earning free money like a thief?
  3. are you hired to police the policies and overall strategy (offshoring or not) OR are you in senior exec position to pass your judgement on Gainwell’s strategy?

My take on this is simple - do your role well and remember that employment is not entitled - in US all employment is at will unless otherwise agreed upon during hiring process.

100% agree with Fresenius. As I said to my manager as we were discussing strategy and what Gainwell is doing, like dog owners who blame the dog for bad behavior, they are looking at the wrong end of the leash. Corporate Gainwell is targeting those who generate revenue for the company. They need to be looking at their overhead and their inability to deliver as promised to their clients. It is not the people doing the work, it is Gainwell Corporate continuing to remove tools, change direction mid-stride, lie, cheat, steal, and then blame those in the field because they are failing. No matter what, I will do my job for the client and find another place to work outside of Gainwell. I don't work for criminals.

Yep Gainwell leadership is a joke. They are inept. They are not capable of running this company. Look at the facts.

Finances are in the red

More business is being lost than is being gained

Every DDI has been a failure

Nearly every account is missing their SLAs

Accounts are fed up with poor service being offered by Gainwell

Gainwell wants to offshore 50% of the workforce

Gainwell has layoffs nearly weekly without any pre or post explanation

Gainwell sells things to the customer they have no intention or ability to deliver just to get the contract

There is a constant restructuring going on with leadership

Leader positions are a revolving door

Gainwell chooses to operate unethically and illegally

It is a sad state of affairs at Gainwell. And the poor decisions continue to happen. There is no end in sight. Gainwell has no value for the employee. Their actions show that loud and clear. Defending them or saying everyone needs to do a good job regardless is simply having your head in the sand so you don’t have to look around and see reality.

Project managers are not the problem. It’s Gainwell leadership. Plain and simple.

Don't get me wrong, project managers have their place within organizations. But the practice of putting project managers in charge where you actually need technical managers. Those who have actually paid their dues and have a secure foundation in the areas of which they are managing.

Often you look at the resume or past work experience of a manager within the organization and 90% or more of their work history is as a project manager and very little of it is actual hands on experience.

wow, thought of a sad ironic story plot...Gainwell steals money from state (clients) who offer programs to people (recipients) who have little to no money. So, since states get their money from taxpayers, that person above who's gaming, drinking, and enjoying Netflix might also be getting some of their tax money back too via payroll. So, what might happen if some of those vulnerable recipients somehow found out this person was slacking off like that? Would some cheer? Would some be real angry? Would some be interested in trying to find this person? idk

To work or to fa-t around? This discussion reminds me of the scene from “Wall Street”:

AMATO
Don't worry, Gekko, we wouldn't let
the engines fall out of the plane.

CARPENTER
(regretfully)
But the reservations systems can
get awfully sc--wed up, if we're
not paying attention.

CHARLEY DENT
And a lot of baggage headed to St.
Petersburg could easily find its
way to Pittsburgh.

Bruce your nickname might be the boss.

But the boss you are not.

Your thinking makes no logical sense. I will not do a good job for an organization and leaders that are trying to get rid of me whether or not I do a good job. An organization that is unethical. An organization that operates illegally. An organization that is trying to find an offshore replacement for all of us. An organization that has incompetence leading it at all levels. An organization that takes advantage of its customers just to get the contract. An organization that is losing business faster than it’s taking it in. An organization that is failing almost every contract. An organization that is in financial peril.

Nah I’ll stick to drinking beer and watching Netflix or playing video games.

Organizations like Gainwell don’t deserve to be in business.

Hey it’s Bruce here. I absolutely do not care who Netflix and Chill’s LOL. Keeping a laptop open with no movement is “idle time” but who cares. The point I was making is you have two choices to stay with GainHELL or go. Why would you compromise your character by doing nothing and collecting a check. Starting bad habits because your pi---d can be hard to break. No one is putting a g-n to your head making you stay at a place you despise ppl. I get the venting but damn nothing is changing folks but you can. It’s a hard market out there so I’m going to do the job I was paid to do until I’m reunited with the E Street band!

Do people forget that many people work from home? I can have my laptop opened up to only company sites/programs and that's all they will see. Meanwhile I am on my home computer right next to my laptop watching movies and shows all day and how would they know? I would never use my company laptop for accessing anything personal or entertainment related.

Bruce Springsteen.

You do know that there are ways around their spy software right? It’s pretty easy actually.

And it’s not installed on everyone’s computers.

It sure sounds like you are angry because of people that are sitting around doing nothing and getting paid and you are not smart enough to get away with it.

Why do you care if we sit around and watch Netflix while we are getting paid? If you are not a Gainwell fan then it doesn’t affect you.

Being threatened by some Netflix users is pretty childish.

I worked on the NV deal as a contractor for some time. Covid took a lot of us out. I still keep in touch with some coworkers and I heard that TH was coming aboard to help out GW. We recalled a story going around the office back then. This could be a huge conflict with the state if GW moves forward with a relationship with TH.

Trust that Netflix and Chillers will have a colder days ahead. You do know that EVERYONE has DPA on their computer including IT and a report goes out to leadership that shows your idle time, not logged in time, every site you click on, how long your on a task etc so it will be very warranted to fire your a** and then you can really chill! The market right now is tough! No one here are teenagers so be wise in your decision making. It’s very simple, If you don’t like GWT you have two choices leave and find something better and that company will have its own set of issues or stay and do your job and not go over and beyond. No I'm not a GWT fan however I would rather get laid off then fired any day!

Gainwell is not doing just fine.

They are operating in the red.

And the majority of what is being talked about here is accurate. They are losing more business than they are taking in. They are in financial peril. They are definitely operating in an unethical manner. It could be illegal. They sell clients things they cannot deliver and have no intention of delivering just to land the contract. Sadly that creates some angry customers. And it creates corrective action plans that Gainwell cannot deliver on. It creates missed service level agreements. It creates missed data targets. And it obviously is bad business. And to top it off they are offshoring 50% of the workforce whether the customers like it or not.

The leaders are pushing it all. And along with Veritas.

Yeah Gainwell is not doing fine.

And your job is not safe.

So stop spreading the roses when there is death all around.

Gainwell is doing just fine - in fact reviving from past fiascos like Kansas, Ohio DDIs. Heard that after TX, CA DDI went well recently.
For DBags who come here to vent their frustrations, try hard and find yourself another free $$$ making job - open challenge to you all…you know who you are!!

I don't think it's a bad place to work but I have come across some bullies. These people have been doing this work for years and have a hard time with people they've been working with for years are gone and in their place are people who haven't been doing this type of work for years. They are unwilling to train and unwilling to share. But there are also people that are the opposite and working hard to bring the new people up to speed. Why we hired interns is beyond me and release people with years of knowledge makes no sense. This new Outsourcing initiative with Tech Mahindra is going to be a slap in the face to some accounts and GW could possibly lose business over this relationship.

DDI hahahaha.

There hasn’t been a successful one yet.

Gainwell doesn’t know how to run this business. They are circling the drain.

Financial peril.
Unethical business practices
Illegal business practices
In hot water at nearly all accounts
On a CAP at approximately 75% of accounts
Can’t hit SLAs
Offshoring 50% + of the workforce
Poor leadership
Incompetence at the top

They have no idea how to run this company except to steal from these accounts and take advantage of these states.

Name one DDI that has been successful.

Pushing back and being the squeaky wheel will land you on the unemployment line.

Good employees cannot survive at Gainwell. You have to be dishonest and willing to do unethical and illegal things to work at Gainwell.

This makes it easier to do nothing and let the place implode. Nothing any of us do is going to stop it from happening. The leaders won’t allow it.

Gainwell is in over their head at almost every account. They make promises to land the contract with zero Intention of actually delivering. That’s about as unethical as it gets. So they at losing more business than they are taking in. And they are choosing to operate unethically and illegally. Nothing any of us do is going to change that. No amount of pushback from a few employees will make one ounce of difference. The o my thing pushing back will get you is unemployment.

I’m not on board.

The DDI space is full of "leaders" who played politics to get to where they are, the Peter Principal ruled in that org since Gainwell started in 2020. They came from the original DXC (EDS) and Molina crowd and little by little have been pushed out in favor of Accenture folks brought in by Veritas. Time will tell if that strategy works, DDIs don't seem to be getting any better for the people doing them. Many of the original VPs, Directors and Principals are still around providing what, i don't know. Bottom line, a lot of "experts", not enough leadership or worker bees to do the job. I have never understood how one can become an "expert" and not be able to pitch in and actually provide real guidance or do real work.
