My bonus was negligible compared to what it could’ve been. The primary reason was “limited impact”. This comes as a shock. I can only guess they hoping I voluntarily leave so they don’t have to pay severance.

Quite despicable for a $7Bln software(!) company with ~20% profit margin to not only rip off its employees wrt compensation&bonus, but also to threaten everyone wih a constant layoff wave environment.
Pretty sure this will backfire very heavily wrt morale, attracting and keeping talent - and way more than the locker room guys at the helm even seem to be able to comprehend.
@375 it was officially announced that this a process that will last during entire fiscal year 2026. I expect several waves more during 2026
@320 how did you know there are another layoff round coming?
@2sh agree, more layoff rounds are coming ( next in January/February) they will select from this pool ( colleagues who got negligible bonus)
@2nt I’m not sure how else one could interpret it. It doesn’t make sense, to me, to punish talent you want to keep. They must know those who were short-changed will be looking for the door.
@2n2 So can we interpret those with low bonus are target for next round layoff?
This was so mean! As the bonus is one of parameters when calculating severence pay! At least in Germany severence pay depends on the entire amount we have earned in the last 12 months
Me 2 limited impact at once and 25%. I am very angry with the company. I know they want me to leave, I might run myself. I hate people that manipulate like this. Does anyone know where I can volunteer?
@1sp believe me an absolute disaster. Because there was another coefficient on top - company performance 78% ?? how it comes? earnings call was quite good. In the best case scenario you would lose 22% if your individual performance is 100%.
@1b3 ah that would do it, I thought you meant 25% of base salary vs your previous bonus
@19m we are talking about 25% from Target. In your case it would mean 2.5 %. That is very little.
@zz my average bonus after 2 years at ansys was 10%, 25% is a he-l of a lot more for me then. What kind of bonus were you expecting?
When they want to pay you less, they have any reason no matter you work hard or not.
@a4 25%
I am waiting patiently that they break up with me. Aart, if you are reading this - please do something to save Synopsys from further devastation. We desperately need your come back.
@pa more layoff rounds to go. That low number may be used as justification for future rounds.
@g5
Was shocked as well. Individual factor 40%. What I am wondering is why they did not lay me off last round? Giving a bad performance but still keep me here does not make too much sense.
What is an expected bonus amount? I know it ranges but I’ve got between 20 and 40K cash plus stock before.
my bonus was also really really bad. Individual performance was 25%. I was shocked. They hope for sure we will leave without severence pay.
What percentage was your individual performance?
