Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Job eliminated

Not sure if this qualifies as a layoff but we were just informed our job title was being eliminated at the end of the year. At least we got a heads up.

Very few ILEC CM's worth the paycheck they are making. There is one in OH that adds no value what so ever. What's funny he got a trip and promotion for being one of the worse. Just look at the number of open jobs from 2018 and 2019 under his watch.

I manage contract construction crews for ilec. You would think that since were inhousing all construction they’d need someone to manage them. Apparently not

Experience tells me, that if your job is being eliminated - the week after you leave they will post an opening to replace you. 'Your job is being eliminated' is just another way of saying you make too much $, Nothing you can do about it - Move on.

“This place never lays off the groups that should be let go“

C’mon now. The private jet isn’t going to fly itself. We need to have those pilots and their staff on the payroll.

This place never lays off the groups that should be let go. Get rid of the legacy Enterprise and Hospitality equipment sales and support , and focus on our core network services. These legacy equipment people that are left from hospitality and enterprise are C- players left from layoffs holding the bag.. All I spend my day is apologizing now to customers about the continued erosion of service they receive now. All the capable people from these groups were laid off. I spent weeks on end apologizing to a hotel group so they wouldn’t cancel over another teams incompetence. WS needs to focus on our core strengths, and shake the leaves off the tree that no longer serves the greater good of our customers. And use that money to hire and keep existing people we need more of....techs, pms, etc

I was told something similar today. Our team is getting restructured after the 4th of July break. I have a feeling a team or teams are going away or being outsourced. We shall see, summer isn't looking good right now.

Does this mean there were layoffs or notifications the Thursday in-between a pay cycle again?

What teams were notified or downsized?

u people need to do a 'peep' !!!!
On your last day, load up your vehicle with computers!
The peep did just that, his mgr GS sitting out of dalton, said in an official signed statement that all computers were accounted for, none were missing, what did they think he would say, that 10k worth of laptops went missing on his watch ;)
