Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Start looking now IT.....

July starts 3rd quarter. Get ahead of the game and start looking now, as the pattern Centene goes by with IT will start being planned next monthly July, and actual layoffs to begin in Aug-October 2024. I heard this from a very credible source. Just wanted to give you a heads up, this is for IT only.

In my option that have too many levels of Mgmt. Some Mgrs. do very little get big bonuses meanwhile everyone under them do all the work.

It is easier to find a job when you are already working, don't wait till you are already given notice.

I’m in the Tampa IT team, it’s the best team in BTS. Only team to have a SUPER SME. Others are just jealous of it.

I come here to see if there’s anything about layoffs for IT. I see this post and come to check it out, and I see a few post about Tampa IT. I was in the St. Louis office one day this week and heard a group of people complaining about the Tampa IT team. So coming here and seeing a few post complaining about that team made me laugh out loud.

Does anyone know anyone in that team that can find out?

I’m in TSS in another state, so need to ask. Is the Tampa TSS Team really that bad? Team members? Manager?

Tampa IT is horrible. But if you su-k up, you’ll get promoted. Contact someone you trust in IT and ask, they’ll tell you who is the next one getting a promotion there. My sources tell me is the d-mbest of all.

I’ve heard stories of the Tampa IT team by users in that office, and none of them are good. I personally would be embarrassed to work in that team. I feel bad for you, if that’s your team.

"I hate to burst your bubble but it isn't easier to find a job when you have one - that is a thing of the past."

I don't think by easier it means you're more likely to find/get a job but it is much easier in the sense that you don't have the added stress of no income on top of no job and the already terrible job market.

So it's still infinitely easier with income still coming in than without. I think that is what is meant, not that your chances are better because you're still employed. That is probably why several people keep suggesting starting to look now while it's "easier."

Yeah because of the continuous outsourcing.

Found out today my director is in the Tampa office. Wonder what is the purpose of the unannounced visit out of nowhere

And the irony is that many of us are already terribly underwater in our teams/depts. So you're either out of a job or your w/l balance becomes even more out of whack.

Yep I was also told of IT layoffs in third and fourth quarter. I have already seen a few people, higher ups, let go in the past few months. Everything is already in motion.

Would be easier to announce a layoff, get it done and move on. Everyone is drained by now not knowing what states we lost business in or the outcome.

Sick of checking this board to see if I still have a job. I'd rather shovel horsesh-t than work at Centene one more day. Goodby and good luck.

I hate to burst your bubble but it isn't easier to find a job when you have one - that is a thing of the past. There have been so many companies laying off thousands upon thousands and they are all competing against each other. I have been looking since the beginning of 2023 ..... and still stuck at Centene. They are either ghosting or want you to take substantial pay cut. At this point I may have to take a pay cut (which I cannot afford to do) just to get out of this seriously toxic and hostile company.

Honestly, I don’t care anymore. I am already looking for jobs anyway, so if they lay me off, I will be okay with that. But you’re right, it’s better to look for jobs when you already have one

I'm sure they are aware that we are aware. I'd be surprised if they follow the same pattern.
