Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Lawsuits follow

I will be curious to see varieties of lawsuits that will follow after this layoff announcements. Few of these I can foresee :

  1. s-xual harassment
  2. Racial discrimination
  3. Whistleblower
  4. Exploitation
  5. Misuse of immigrant visas
  6. Hostile work environment

Seriously praying for the managers to hide at this time. Good ones will get all the support. Bad ones will run to hide.

Contact EEOC and file a complaint if you believe you have been discriminated against. Doesn't cost a dime. However, it will take a year or more.

This is suspicious. Some insider who is still in payroll and defending his position. Guys, listen to those and make up your own mind. Talk to one external person before taking action. Good luck.

This is applicable to USA employees only. I can not say Saudi Arabia or N—ria or other places. Of course, USA is not ruled by a family Kingdom. Law of the land exist. Trust it. Though some managers in and HR behave like they are like Saudi Prince or connected to them. And behave like them. waiting to be the KIng/Queen. hehehehe.

being an attorney, all i can say is - there is one agency that you can approach to make a dent. No legal document can stop. That is the Department of Labor and EEOC. They can not stop you approach these govt agencies which is illegal.

Stay cool. Take the severance package. Keep required documents handy before leaving the building if you are planning to sue. Make friends with everybody. Give them a big Hug. Stay n touch with them after leaving to get some witnesses. Give a big big hug whom you want to sue. whisper in their ears that - i am coming. Hahahahah....

Guys, you are dealing with a ruthless company. Scumbooger has spend millions on attorneys to make sure that their severance package is iron clad. They would rather spend millions on attorneys than spend on employees. It’s best to just sign the package and move on or spend 1,000’s on an attorney and waste your meager severance pay.

SchlumberTurd is the the worst service company to ever be associated with, even Hallibooger is keeping a large portion of employees on furlough so that at least they can maintain benefits.

This downturn will come around, it’s not if, it’s when. Good luck and Godspeed, it’s best to forget that Dumbooger ever existed. You can thank all of the 300 pound fatties that are sitting behind their computer screen in Sugarland. These are the giblets making 1,000’s while they look for heads to cut.

Sue if u have a case. Every corporate lawyer is highly paid. So no brained they will put the strongest legal documents for their masters.

Also weigh - severance vs ur possible claim against legal case. If time permits run thru a lawyer before signing. Find a lawyer quickly who can give a quick feedback.

Always there is department of labor and other govt agencies as your last resort if you want to make a dent. That means there are possibilities.

The problem with taking any emails or other communication is if you want your severance package and before you are escorted out, you have a sign a release form stating you will not sue SLB. If you do not sign it then you do not get your severance package. If you don't need the money from your severance package and have a strong case then taking SLB documentation without permission or awareness of SLB then you are in violation and can get charged. Very very sensitive and meticulous process. I am not saying do not do this but you better make sure you know what you are doing. SLB lawyers are tough! Worked with them long enough to know you better have your sh– together or you may end up with nothing!

"Take a copy of all communication with you" are you stupid?

The only thing you can take with you when you leave is the severance package paperwork, benefit memo, etc... Specific details regarding your separation from the company. And trust me, that stuff is ironclad.

You try to take an email or so much as a Post-It with you, you're a special kind of stupid

Talk to a lawyer. Always remember that everything employers do are not enforceable in court of law. Good luck.

Do this if you are let go because of something else than ur counterparts. Keep all the communications handy. Ask for copies before u leave. Save all those info as much as u can. They can be your treasure trove for future actions. U must be getting lit if lawyer’s adverts on this forum too.

Good luck filing a lawsuit if you signed the waiver and release. You waived your rights to file those lawsuits when you signed. Shoulda read the fine print.

There will be no lawsuits, stop crying and move on to your safe space. Scumbooger provides crayons and coloring books with release documents so you’re covered.
