Baker Hughes CEO'S post

I always find posts like this refreshing...anyone else?

This week in Houston has been challenging, to say the least.

Since Monday, Hurricane Beryl has left millions without power, including at my own home. It will be a long road of recovery, and with heat indexes exceeding 100 degrees F/37 degrees C, it is dangerous for many to be without basic amenities.

Baker Hughes has thousands of employees in the area. It is a core part of our sustainability strategy to support the communities we live and work. Our employees are safe and our facilities have not incurred any major damage so we are able to support our customers, but we know there is more we can do.

I am so proud of the ways we are caring for our community and putting people first to take energy forward. Some examples:

505 We have announced a $75,000 Baker Hughes Foundation grant to the American Red Cross Greater Houston Chapter. This grant will help provide comfort, shelter, and supplies to over 10,000 people in the impacted area. https://lnkd.in/eQV-GPpU

We opened our headquarters office for employees to bring their families during working hours, allowing them to cool off, charge, and care for each other in a safe space. In between meetings, I even got to give a personal tour to Prudence, daughter of Adrienne Ly--h, our global public relations director.

Thank you to our team members in Houston and globally for ensuring business continuity this week, and every day. It speaks to the strength of our resilience and our core values in action: lead, collaborate, grow, and care.

@OP, hopefully you and others reading the post did not for this cheap (free) publicity stunt by the CEO.

If anyone believes the part about the CEO's "house without power"......I have a bridge for sale in Arizona! If his Generac didn't kick in within seconds of the power outage, he most likely ordered the Serfs from his organization show up with the hand fans to keep the air moving.
@2idy+1trDnPvx You sir / Madam hit the nail on the head.

Funny to see him getting so much praise here. He’s almost universally loathed by BH employees.

If Bangalore has a crisis, EM will jump quicker and higher to assist staff.

EM would close BTC for 3 days for 1 day weather event.

BTC is High Value in multiple ways.

We could not even be bothered to tell our employees to not come to the office while the storm was going on.

OP I can only wish we had a CEO with so much empathy, so much support for his employees. But we have Satan leading ExxonMobil and he's letting us burn.

It takes so little to show compassion and care. Maybe we should ask ourselves why we don’t treat others like the way we wanted to be treated. Would we do for others when we have nothing to gain?
