Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

2022 will make 5 years without a raise

If I'm still at DXC for the sixth, I deserve to never get a raise again. I have no plans to stick around, though. Enough is enough, even if it took a while to click.

Your full of it. You must be in a low cost country. The last time I did math, 8% of nothing is still nothing.

I mean... maybe it's your sh$tty attitude?? I started Nov 2019, got bonus May 2020, pay increast (8%) Oct 2020, bonus April 2021 and a 14% pay increase currently pending.....

Interesting thread. I worked for DXC in Denmark until 2017 and can relate to just about everything people write. No raises for years, a toxic workculture and no education what so ever. Management only cover their own pathetic as--s and are totalte ignorant of their workers well-being. Best thing I ever did in that company was to get the f... out and find a meaningful job elsewhere

Been with DXE for just over 4 years. Only raise was 1% last year. Complete silence on anything this year so far. Hiring and salary freeze was opened back up a week or two ago, if nothing comes up this month its time to start shopping around

I have been with DXC for 14 months. In a team of 33, this included managers. We are now down to 11. On the certain account I work on. Either, they have had to reduce cost and it is now not making any real profit or they are looking to move in another direction as a company. Currently we have a freeze on recruitment, pay rise and bonus is suspended. Backlog of projects to deliver for the client. We are definitely not meeting the SLA. Senior DXC managers are nowhere to be seen or heard. It is left to the program or delivery managers to take the a$$ taring from the client. The account could be so good, if the client and DXC had a more collaborative relationship. Let's just say, I think either side will default soon. Also it is the second biggest account in the UK.. Little hint. Big sitr in Warton, near Preston.

I have to take issue with your “dead wood” comment. Just because some of us have long years of service and expect competitive wages and benefits, it does not make us dead wood or “career staff”. And by the way, don’t fool yourself in thinking DXC is changing. It is not. Have you gotten your raise and bonus yet for this year? They were supposed to be done with that process last month and here we are, no one knows anything or says anything. The brain drain I have seen since DXC’s existence is just incredible!

I got a 4% one last year. 1st time i'm 8 years and don't expect to ever see one again

Don't care as i do almost nothing all day , health benefits, vacation time , sick days. But it's boring!

Retiring in 2 years as well

I work for dxc. More recently Management have paid rises for most staff but after nothing for 5 years that’s still not enough to counteract the years of nothing and increased cost of living. But they are trying to change that culture - so employees have 2 very simple choices. Stay or go. Too many ‘career staff’ are stuck in the past and block the way for those who want to contribute and develop - so clear the dead wood and let the rest grow and shine I say!

Tge amount if experienced people commenting on here that just don’t get it! Anybody that has been in IT for some yrs should know MOST IT companies pay market rates , so you will find newer employees with Jess experience on higher wages, and even IF you did get a pay rise every yr you still would never get near those new employees and the only way to get a significant pay rise , is to leave and then comeback a few yrs later. Has always been thus way and always will be.

To @5tja+1eyvvUG5, don't pi-s off your manager. They are people managers and don't have a clue of your / my work load.

I have 50 days sick leave in my bank, unlimited vacation time (my manager has never said no when requesting time off), I had 10+ weeks of vacation time in 2021 and do almost nothing all day long. I reach US retirement age this year and I am milking it for all it's worth

@5qqk+1eyvvUG5 - Unlimited Vacation Time ? Yeah, sure. So try taking 10 weeks off this year. Let me know how that works out for you. What you have is 'undefined vacation allowance' - basically you can take anything you want as long as your manager approves it, and only up to two weeks at a time. Pi-s off your 'boss', you don't get to take ANY vacation..."we're just too busy...sorry".

Prior to leaving, I had 6 weeks of vacation time at HP/DXC (with 20+ years in). I now have 6 weeks, + 5 floating days...so essentially 7 weeks, plus 3-5 sick days, 9 observed holidays, none of which is subject to the previous 'whims of whatever manager I happen to report to today' situation that plagued my last 5 years before leaving. And if I don't use it...they pay me for it.

But yeah...keep telling yourself you're winning ;)

To the person that said " more vacation time" how is that possible we get unlimited vacation. Two weeks off every other month or 9 days every month

I left 5 years ago. I was tired of the constant threat of layoffs, no raises, no bonuses, no management support etc.
Since then, I've been promoted three times at my new gig, received $50k+ in bonuses, now making nearly 50% more than I started at, have more vacation time, better benefits, better 401k matching,

My only regret was that I took so long to make the jump.

Past perspective. Ages ago I worked for CSC at Aon and it was a mild joke until the fired all IT staff in December, 2005 to save the $600 million contract that was falling apart. Their costs to Aon were double what was projected - so they replaced the good staff with kids. Some time later, I picked up a new job with First Consulting Group - the worst - and they were bought by CSC so that was that. Awful everything at Continuum Health in NYC. So nothing has changed. Why stay?

I left just over a year ago.

I now have:

  • a better salary
  • bonus that is actually paid
  • no toxic work culture
  • no threats of redundancy every three months

The positive impact of leaving, on both my professional and personal life has been brilliant.

My advice: get out, get out now. DXC will do nothing for you, why stay??

No change with this dire company and inept management - there's only one direction DXC is heading - fire sale and eventual demise, likely we see the current CEO and stake cutter making a route for the door in 2022

I went from 2013 to 2021 without an increase . Got one in 2021, but less than 5% with inflation over 14% from 2013.

"I left DXC in late November after having enough of mk1/mk2 and their steak cutter bs with no raises or bonuses for years yet again."

Likewise! I left a year ago - the financial and personal benefits of leaving DXC are tangible and appreciated.

I left DXC in late November after having enough of mk1/mk2 and their steak cutter bs with no raises or bonuses for years yet again. The new company I started at gave me a Holiday bonus after only 3 weeks. That’s all you need to about know how sh---y DXC is and there are much better companies out there to waste your time and energy on. Good riddance DXC, will not be making any recommendations, in fact probably write a case study on how sh---y the DXC experience was. Any public or social praise you see with this horrendous company is bought but not paid for as DXC is notorious for not paying their bills.

Wow. Get the heck out. What are you waiting for?

I went through one review cycle and when there was no cash I got out. And guess what... Every year since I left I've gotten a raise and a bonus. Plus I am actually doing meaningful work. Life is too short to waste waiting for DXC to change. It won't change. Just leave.
