So what’s this latest RIF round rumored for October? Any details?

You have to get permission to move period whether your within 50 miles or not. This company is a sh-t show. Our team is 100% remote except for our manager. I was hired as remote. I live over 50 miles from an office so I cannot transfer within the company. I spoke to HR at length about this. I decided to leave the company because I do not like the team I’m on or my manager. It’s sad because I like the work itself. I’ve exceeded expectations every year that I’ve been here. I cannot work for an unethical manager any longer. This company does not care how bad the middle management is or how many employees leave because of them either.
Grievance and Appeals in CA has associates that are 100% remote. Some live within 20 miles of an office and they are grandfathered in.
Is Carelon MBM affected?
I would consider that grandfathered in. If you already lived 50 miles away then you are grandfathered in. If you would try to move more than 50 miles now, you have to get approval.
Hopefully. No more offshoring
As has been said - October 17th is the next round.
@3uym...I am in the midst of reading the posts but have not gotten to each and everyone YET!!! Thanks for your rude reply!! Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this!!
Your job is in jeopardy make time. @3zww+1uv19YGD
I am new to this site and relatively new to this company. Will someone please explain and expound on what I am reading in this post about October rif.
Please don't say everything is out there on this site, as I am just now seeing this and haven't had time to read each posting.
Asking because October is right around the corner.
Thanks in advance.
I can confirm the same on all points in your post. Though, longterm associates are holding out for the 6 month severance and just working fewer hours and care less. If our top-down, finger-pointy, cost-cutting leadership doesn't really care about quality, why should we? HR will chime in with their salesy why and GB will lie about how associates matter but everyone sees it as nonsense and staff lose respect for those individuals everytime they speak. Live your life and choose what's best for you, not the company. That's what our fine leadership is doing. If the bare minimum works for you, do that and ignore the incompetent wearing 42 pieces of flare.
This is incorrect. Those who are still allowed to work 100% remote either live too far away from a Pulse Point OR have a special exception for extenuating circumstances.
No one is grandfathered in.
I’m curious if the ppl who work from home and do not work in a state that has a pulse point would be easy layoff targets in Oct. I know that they have special approval since they are basically grandfathered in. Some workloads seems alot lighter than previous years Fall time craziness. Any thoughts on this?
It's definitely happening, don't ask me what depts as it would put a target on my back. I recommend to ALL to look for other employment before your name gets picked on some list. It's not worth it staying at whatever this companys name is this week. SPS is a disaster, our jobs are being shipped overseas to folks who are paid way less and can't even fix the issues we've hired them to do, and Providers are up in arms over the incompetence of Anthem. In fact, I hope someone who works at a State entity reads this (or CMS) and digs in on why Anthem is an abject failure. Gail and the board do not care about us, so get out while you can.
What areas of the org and in the path of the RIFs? Does anyone know that?
Totally mid October. They'll do the quarterly townhall the week after like nothing happened.
Take a look at the stock prices, their strategy is working. If not October, it will be November, December, etc...
October is smelling a bit RIFy.
Mid-Oct RIF date so would be mid-Nov last day. Good news is at least you’d get most if bonus.
Is it Oct 17/18 as last day or the 4 weeks notice ? Which counts as the rif…. The notice or final day on payroll?
Is this gonna be across all orgs? Or certain departments?
If it is Oct 17 that means for impacted people - their last days will be 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Buckle up people. It is is going to be a memorable holiday season.
