Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Fact

Centene has failed to do anything with a sound focus strategy. And in these uncertain times, a company led by dog whistles, complexity, and arrogance will not serve its employees well.

No talks about capital position. No talks about liquidy. No sound talks about the future. Just "believe in our mission." while the it's cultural values don't align. Centene fails on both the marketing and human level.

I wish everyone well as we move forward.

OP, go elsewhere. This is every Fortune 500 company. Best of luck. Don’t let the door hit you in the a-s on the way out.

The “poet” person is back and apparently replying to themselves again and again to make it seem like there’s an actual conversation happening. Id--t.

RE: While he could have brought in someone or promoted someone that was great for the company, he chose the poet.

He didn't "choose" her. He was pushed in that direction by one of the investment groups. He insulated himself, via Board Members of his choosing/people who were guaranteed seats through Centene's acquisition of their company. The investment groups demanded new Board members, which wouldn't insulate him.

Remember when he named a bench ready to take over and her face was the first one to appear on Centene promotional videos? Remember when he held fireside chats and she sat directly to his right? This was all planned.

It takes a lot of political maneuvering, connections, timing, and luck to land what she did.

Centene has been dying since the poet came on board. Unfortunately, MFN couldn't live forever, nor could he trust his son with autism to set up. My child has autism, so I understand. While he could have brought in someone or promoted someone that was great for the company, he chose the poet. Why? I believe it was on purpose. If he couldn't be successful at the company anymore, let it die. Instead of selling, gasp, he decided to let it fail.

Sarah is and has always been UNQUALIFIED!! Drew is awful too!! They are examples of failed leaders with no plan, no vision, & most importantly NO SOUL!!

Centene is dying a SLOW death!!

They should rename Centene to Optum 2.0. The CEO was brought in by a venture capital group and is following others coattails when she should be leading and being a visionary. Optum or United makes a move, CNC will try to do the same.
The CNC Brand from 2022 to now unfortunately is a vacuous culture or void of an identity.

“And in these uncertain times”

When is it not uncertain times?

“No talks about capital position. No talks about liquidy. No sound talks about the future. Just "believe in our mission." while the it's cultural values don't align.”

What cultural values aren’t aligned?

I disagree OP. We plan how to sc--w employees by forcing ICHRA on then better than any other Fortune 500.

Agreed. We want to be everything and do everything, which results in mediocrity. We are still very silo’d.

Mediocre products. Mediocre technology. Mediocre staff.
