Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

HCL rebadging has been the best idea management has come up with

I'm speaking as someone who had gone through the HCL rebadging.

This is probably the best idea that management has made.

Most will agree that the "historical" culture at state farm was one where a few people did the work while others sat around and did very little.

HCL will not allow that culture to continue. Yes, the will honor the contract for the required year, but after that, the people who sat around doing nothing will either learn to work, or they will be shown the door.

I've seen people on my team who have done NOTHING for years finally decide they need to learn how to do their jobs.

Productivity will rise and dead weight will be let go, which state farm was always unwilling to do.

Probably one of the ones that was old enough to retire from SF and keep all the benefits.

They create change in the business environment allegedly for the better. Never forget they do not have power over you. Only you have power over yourself and no one else unless you allow them. You have as much power as they do to create change. Their power is reactionary and based on historical data. Your power does not have to be based on historical data to be successful.

Oh yes the mass exodus at 3/1 that was supposed to occur in 2016, 2017, 2018,2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and now 2024. Hahahahahahaha. You are funny boy.

@2gmx Nah. The mass exodus won't start until 3/1/24

There's too much bonus money sitting on the table for us to leave before then unless this continues to be a miserable job.

Anyone with a strong skillset (that isn't about to retire) is already job hunting will be leaving HCL. It's not a career company that people want to bank their future on. SF will be seeing a huge amount of expertise walk out the door in the next 10 months.

Sorry Karen.

Yes, it was important enough to bring out of comments onto it's own post.

Did that trigger you?

That is because they have initially brought over first line management from State Farm also, to make people comfortable with the transition.

If you notice, they are slowly bringing in HCL managers to "co-manage". Eventually, the HCL managers will do REAL management and get rid of dead weight.

Our area has seen zero leadership from HCL other than get your timecards filled out every 3 days. 90% of the support has been the same people that did the work continuing to do so.

I find humor on this site when I hear it’s all those bad employees who are the problem. I think those who lead need to take a good long look in the mirror.

Attitude reflect leadership!

HCL is the outsourcing agency that is being used to get rid of 90 percent of employees over the next few years.

It benefits State Farm in many ways.

They no longer need to deal with employees such as those posting on this site who hate their jobs.

They get rid of the pension liability.

They don't have to deal with lazy people who don't or can't do their jobs, HCL will be responsible for firing them.
