Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

The lies

11 years working at WellCare was great... Until Centene took over. The last 3 years of changes was summed up by being handed walking papers. They consistently told us how great things were during meetings, as well as employee surveys asking how we felt. All smoke and mirrors at Centene.

Which Wellcare Department and which state? I was in Phoenix in Disputes and it was a nightmare every day with a manager who was the laziest person ever. Most employees were transferred to Arizona Complete Health/Ambetter and their "director" was a huge fraud who made employees write essays (!) for rewards. Crazy.

That means that PM was underpaid and overworked. Favorites has always been a dirty game PL play. But all we see are goals, career paths, meet with your PL… if they were fair this company wouldn’t be doing bad in numbers. If employees were hired and promoted for actual work the right people would be in positions.

Yes 100 actual truth! I even asked my former PL and the response was even more lies, I reached out after losing access to say Hey I thought you said I was still an employee and you were waiting on the VP to give the final approval, waiting that’s not how it works you put the request in or access after all of the email chain approvals not after I am not ignorant but I guess my former saw me as a direct threat. Talk about being so low, that’s so vile and disgusting.

Are you saying that you were one of the people told they were laid off back in October, but then this week your people leader said you were actually not laid off after all and they were keeping you... but then it was a lie and they did not keep you.

I am really hoping I missed something because if I understood it correctly, it's one of the most messed up things I have ever heard. I can't even wrap my head around it!

Centene career salary ranges from $114,000-212,000 for a Director and requires a degree (so they say). Thats the salary of two qualified individual contributors that were probably laid off. Yet, these are the PL we are expected to lead the company to growth, to develop career paths? Blah blah blah and yes, they know exactly who these Directors are, its all gossip in the departments (without exaggerating).

Just to say, they call all this a "layoff" but really we have been FIRED, with sorry check..... When the " layoff" was put in place for departments, the manager and Supervisors were able to make changes to who was to go. I was one let go, reason how much money I made per hour, length of time ( since with Centene/ Wellcare you can kinda retire at 55 ). The manager (s) were able to make adjustments of who to let go. So if you said anything bad to them or sups, Completed the supposed confidential surveys and marked less then great, made comments negatively, this wa part of the adjustments to who was let go and who was to stay. If your manager/ supervisor didn't like you and always talked down to you or found ways to say you didn't do something their way, you where choosen to be let go.

Lay offs mean you will could/ should be called back, you wnt be called back.

If they said your position has been elminated, keep an eye out since that means they can never fill that position again even with title changes or description.etc.

There are so many more PL as you described. Imagine having a director that can’t read, write an email or spell telling you what you don’t know. Imagine a whole company being aware of these issues of PL and not one person speaking up. It’s easier to just go with the flow because if you speak up nothing happens. Then you don’t speak up the company fails and here are the layoffs. Theres no point in caring anymore. We are tired.

Exactly, nothing but LIES and the nerve of this PL to dangle carrots at the eleventh hour is a sick, malicious game. No doubt someone from my former department will see this post. This company is being had by this PL who has zero capability of running a department however knows how to play the role and perform in order to keep up the facade. How many others like this PLs profile work at this company.

They improved a bit their stars Score this year but , it is like the like to self sabotage themselves, the little traction they won around quality is getting lost rapidly and the place is becoming ruderles, since mid year this place is very chaotic

The truth is that the people in charge of Wellcare the " leaders" are the same damn people that are not doing what needs to be done and are heavily protected by big daddy Drew, that s it. If it seem they have pushed out Jim Murray who is quite the character I.
Medicare, what is left for the rest, Sarah London do what Drew tells her to do, she is just too weak to lead, and Wellcare was Drew Segway to Centene, so there is no way that the business will improve, just there is not, unless the uproot all those leaches at the top, which may not happen any time soon

The executives at Wellcare are Drew's folks, of course they will not change sh-t, they just keep throwing people under the bus to justify their misstep and trying to buy more time, there is no more time, but it is very political and it will get much worse because they don't have the right people in place that can execute and be effective, they just a bunch of blood su-kers that get out of their own way of doing things

The problems at Wellcare and medicare in general come from the top, a few folks that control that business and are highly incompetent, and refuse to change because they would be proven wrong and are afraid to lose their job s, so they keep sinking in the mud, they are indeed going backwards.

That has to be what they’re doing because these last three years have been laughable. I would literally ask for things we needed to be successful and was asked why I needed said things or how I knew we needed those things, etc. I was even told that certain things I asked about were only handled on an executive level. Perhaps had information trickled down as it should have, we MIGHT have been set up for success. The fact that they let things get THIS bad, it has to be intentional. The only other option is incompetence. Why would others feel threatened by the knowledge one has about the business? That’s the vibes I got. I eventually stopped talking and stopped giving a fu-k. Good luck and Godspeed to those who remain.
