Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Finally realised

Thanks Kirstie for leading the global call and addressing the question on everyone's lips.
Thanks Mary for finally giving a straight answer on merit.. Just make sure the whole leadership team is on message.
Raul, mate we have been treated so poorly on merit up to this point no wonder half your managers didn't show up to your call. Chicken and egg now.... Empowering your managers to compensate employees for great performance allows them to get the best out of people. Less stick more carrot 🥕 will send a wave of motivation through the company.
We all want to go climb the mountain with you but it's got to be a fair partnership.
We wait with anticipation for what comes in these next couple of months. Please god don't let us down mi amigo for I fear for the future of DXC with a broken workforce.

Looks like people think everyone should just get a pay rise for showing up. That's called a state pension! And the reason why the company is sinking. But we're all fast coming to the same conclusion. Just show up, attend a few meetings and say yes. You don't actually have to deliver. Even the managers say when I get handed 2%, you'll all get either 2% each or £500. And they wonder why it's virtually impossible to get anything done now.

2wmn+1uCFPFFK, i would add....and while the top have been milking the company dry and growing nothing but their own pocket....and they wonder why. I have no issue going the extra mile if the recognition and reward is also there

Passengers should not be rewarded. You should get fired if you think all you need to do is log in every day and listen in to a few meetings. This is not contributing and you are a burden. But staff who do their job should be able to expect market rate, and to get an annual cost of living increase. Pay rises should not require going above and beyond and be limited to the top 1%. Everyone needs recognition and sight of consequences for falling into that can't be bothered set.

@2sxu+1uCFPFFK this is rubbish! Some of us met and exceeded every year for the past 10 years and got 1 pay increase in that time - suggest you do what I did, if they offer you redundancy - TAKE IT! The job market might be challenging but I guarantee if you're any good you'll find something better with an employer that values your skills

D: @2nyy+1uCFPFFK You don’t get a pay increase for showing up. You have e meet most and exceed some to get a pay increase. The sooner you babies learn that the better off you will be

Unless you have the money in your pay check I wouldn’t believe anything they say. It’s another lie, why wait a day just do it!

You should get the local inflation rate every year as a minimum. This odd notion that people shouldn’t get a raise after 12 months is madness, one of DXC clients does a simple grid 1-5 and even if you are the shittest performer you still got more of a raise than anyone in UKI at DXC got. Talking from 8-9% range down to 3% for the lowest

@2ewd+1uCFPFFK

Boot licking at it's finest. Payrises should be mandatory for all permanent employees every year adjusting to inflation at a minimum. The ones who get rewarded more should be the ones who went above and beyond.

But sure, play that game. I'll continue to do almost zilch and continue receiving easy monies.

@evs+1uCFPFFK We all agree: a pay rise shouldn’t be automatic for just showing up. But many who go above and beyond get nothing in return. It's frustrating to see those giving 110% receive the same 0% as those doing the bare minimum. Often, that hard work is wasted on tasks the client cancels or doesn't care about in the end. Those hoping for a pay increase have realized it's unlikely if they’re over 50, already paid near market rate, or if their boss can't navigate the pay review process—sadly, a common scenario.

Met most and exceeded some doesn’t mean fu-k all

People who have 1 rating, (the one you mentioned is a 2) don’t even get raises!

How do you expect to get a raise with a lower rating??!?

This is precisely what DXC has done. Made id--ts like you deluded. You literally have no clue how they operate.

Hey @xaa+1uCFPFFK you don’t get a pay increase for showing up, you should only get a pay increase if you were a professional and did your job. You met most and exceeded some of your goals.

ThE UK network team that was in a work stoppage should all be fired for cause in the stop , very unprofessional!

Straight answer? Listen to what she said very carefully. Something about focussing on our manager levels this phase. I don't think that means everyone is getting a raise. Even if we do it might be below inflation so another pay cut.

Two things.
First seemed odd for Raul to bring out the stick before the staff get a look at the carrot, Secondly Raul was on Howard's call on Monday, and Howard said raises all done, if you haven't got one yet your ****ed. Howard was on Raul's call, and Mary says raises will be in December. They both can't be right.

Post a transcript of the answer.

I don’t believe she said what people think.

Howard Bolville said literally 3 days prior that pay reviews were pretty much complete AND Raul was on that call.

There's been no carrots and no sticks for years. Colleagues can get away with doing very little, and the management answer is - just get someone else to do it. Get rid of these passengers and let the ones who do want to deliver something useful. Empower staff and managers to be able to get the job done. And that means some carrots, but you actually have to let us get them, not just continually move the goal posts.
