Heard about layoffs in AML Operations early next year due to lack of work. Workflow projections were totally wrong and now people sit for weeks without any work. Similar to other banks, there will be layoffs based on low performance. More to come…..

Fraud is asking for more bodies
USAA has an enormous AML Ops dept compared to other institutions. Anyone who thinks this situation is going to continue forever is naive. Like all programs, they will tune the rules to reduce false positive alerts thereby reducing the total volume of alerts. Less people are needed at this point. It’s already happening…
Just do a quick search for usaa aml
Jobs in tampa and there is an aml manager and senior position available, but nothing internally…🤷🏻♂️
@3zxl+1pXOIXgR
I have no idea why they are recruiting, but these are third party agencies and not direct hire. I am a former compliance officer, so I figured I aligned with their profile. I am not sure what "losers" you are referring to? Are putting down people who are being laid off? I hope I misunderstood what you wrote, otherwise that would make you a complete jerk.
@2etb+1pXOIXgR wonder what's going on with that, I never see any compliance postings when I check. Are they trying to do shadow rehires of people who left voluntarily, and then not post anything for the "losers" they're laying off to apply to?
I have had three + agencies reach out regarding compliance consulting/management and compliance analyst positions at USAA starting asap. Each one said they thought I might want to go back. I declined.
Considering aml work has been drying up month over month…concerns are valid
AML is the most worthless department here lol
I call bs…
Hopefully, the folks just sitting can train? Or at least look around internally?
Not sure. Working in Bank but heard AML people expressing concerns about being laid off.
Sorry to hear the news. Any idea how many will be impacted?
