Okay, maybe I'm not the best employee, but I definitely think that no employee will become any better by getting micromanaged to the point of near insanity. Also, I am sick of seeing good workers getting micromanaged while at the same time manager's favorites are spared from it even though they are mostly the biggest slackers. I think that some managers here simply enjoy micromanaging employees, even though they know how counterproductive such an approach is. Agree?

And with the hawkish Fed these days job security isnt what it used to be so look out MISTER!
Good deal. Hope they came up with some dirt to can you slackers.
Management doesn't care of its employees. They protect their own. Had a manager send friend requests other employees they didn't like or that they thought were not productive enough only to try and find stuff on their social media so they could report it to HR.
I find malicious compliance works best when micromanaged......just remember to constantly go to your TM and ask really inane questions about their micromanaging, you know to get clarification on exactly how you are to do things..remember there are no grey areas. Micromanaging work both ways....those who are micromanaged...micromanage..the micromanagers..it drives them nuts..try it..
"Good employees dont cry about metrics" definite management who likes to control, own, suppress, and considers themselves elites. Sick puppies!
Good employees dont cry about metrics, whoever posted that is right, they just leave for a better company. This is a huge problem as its causing a brain drain.
Failing miserably? U b a funny bunny.
This is exactly why leadership at SF is failing miserably. Instead of making good workers the best workers, they run them out while they preach inclusive environment. If they did create an inclusive work environment the good ol boy types would go away for the betterment of the workforce and the customer. Management considers anyone outside their cloned group a threat when in reality it would create the good neighbor and value for the customer they preach.
@2dti They do it to make a name for themselves among their fellow managers. High schoolish.
I got “coached” today for answering a question from an agent team member correctly, but not reading his mind and anticipating that he needed something else entirely.
There might be some managers that like to micromanage but honestly it takes up a ton of time to do that. Most would much prefer workers that don’t require it…
SF is same as GOOGLE. Lost its focus.
I was written up at State Farm for LAUGHING while I was on break…yep
Meanwhile, my co-worker was allowed to be completely asleep at her desk while she was logged into the phone queue (FULL on snorting)..smh
Right. You were in claims for 9 months and now spend your time trolling on this site. Give us a break. Poser.
The OP isn’t wrong. I can tell you I lived that life for only 9 months and I was lucky enough to get out of Claims. The problem starts with is that their training sucks. They do not teach you to do the actual job. They just throw you at the job and you sink or swim. If you don’t have the proper training, you can’t be successful at the job. So, yes the metrics and micromanaging that they love tracking your every second, every click on your computer. It’s a miserable sick life being in Claims.
Good employees never complain about being micromanaged but bad ones do. Wonder why?
Good employees are often micromanaged instead of properly coached. The training this company provides definitely attributes to the need for coaching, but micromanagement is never beneficial. There are many bad managers who micromanage all employees regardless of how good they are, and we have lost countless numbers due to it. You cannot micromanage a claim employee- too much stress on the worker.
@vbt Another fine example of a wannabe leadership response. Failure to recognize managements inability to properly train and retain any talent, shows incompetence at their level and failure to take responsibility for the aforementioned. Some of the best employees and producers at SF were the ones who did not like this leadership attitude because they saw a lot of great people run out by people like you. The tables will soon turn. They always do.
LOL-there is an inverse relationship between micromanaging and employee quality/productivity. As you admit you are not a good employee so guess what you are going to get more management scrutiny. Manager time is better spent not micromanaging poor performers like you. Hopefully you will find the exit soon and your TM will be eternally grateful.
