Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

No one seems to know.

I think it’s safe to say that the people who once knew about upcoming layoffs have either been let go or are afraid to speak up. We are now left with a lot of speculation and the waiting period has become unbearable.

Wow, I just read the IRIS FAQ on sale of Medicare to HCSC. The one thing that pops out is that Cigna used to have a Pension plan for employees. So I did some more digging about Pension plans and Cigna has it in place for employees hired before 1998 (part B) and 1989 (part A).

I find interesting that HCSC still provides a pension plan today to it's employees. I wish I was a Medicare employee going over. All this stress about more Cigna layoffs and future of work is exhausting.

“The one thing I do know is that "most" MA staff are safe from layoffs due to the sale of HCSC. Leadership has mentioned multiple times that we need to stay head count neutral, meaning no layoffs, but also no hiring.

As for the rest of Cigna, the clues are there, search for Cigna job listings. Also word is that many recruiters are looking for people to fill similar roles in India. I see that as an indication Cigna is getting ready to layoff more staff.

Echoing another post I read here on this website, remember to update your SOP's P&P's, and Job Aids to not give all your secrets.”

This post. Thank you! IRIS has a FAQs page on the MAPD’s, Careallies’ transition to HCSC. They just updated it on 2/9.

As the previous post states, the clues are there. Case Managers! There are 3 positions listed for Population Health Case Manager Nurses. 3!!! Maybe 3 people gave notice and there is a good chance they wont backfill them.

People come to this site for information. Can we stop and act like grown adults please? I don't feel like mining through childish comments. This site could shut down and we won't receive the little bit of knowledge that we do.

It’s not gatekeeping the company.
Folks don’t want to risk their severance.

teams could be small but also departments are not. But anyways, it also seems people who got laid off are gatekeeping their departments as well. That loyalty to a company who doesnt care about you. NICE

An anonymous source won't tell you which area as that will give up their department. They will remain silent.

Unfortunately nobody comment in this thread will be the confirmation we all want. And that’s because too much specificity will make it easier for lurking company heads to find out who is leaking info.

Take what you read here with a grain of salt and utilize this to better inform yourself, not confirm rumors.

At the end of the day, we see helpful people and trolls, but for what it’s worth in between all there is to filter through this community has said more to employees than the company itself.

Thank you to everyone who has helped shine light on what we could expect.

Here’s to the end of February! Good luck
