Called being creative in the art of war. Are you just unaware of the war against employees by corporate America? Labor votes against unions (ie-professional negotiators) so you get what you get. You’ll probably see a lot of your benefits cut as well. Good luck on your own, especially with all the cheaper labor coming across that southern border.

I cannot believe they actually found a way to take money from the people they laid off. They’ve taken the bulk severance and changed it to subsidized unemployment so they subtract your state’s unemployment amount and pay you the difference in your salary. They then added that if you were to immediately find a position you will only get 30% of your “12 week” severance. The TSI company keeps the rest. They also state that if you have not found a job in 5 weeks, you have to accept any offers with 10% less that what you’ve asked for and if no job on 8 weeks you have to accept 25% less. What kind of selfish, greedy sh-t is that?

It’s a beautiful arrangement, collecting a salary where myself and our “team” are under constant threat by a manager who has no idea of how to establish and create ongoing professional relationships, and all the while impressing the people I actually am working for so much, I’ve just earned my third raise in 18 months.

Thats great to say get another job when you live in a larger area but those of us in the "rural" areas are finding it difficult to get hired elsewhere especially when you have to list ws on your resume or have an employment gap if you dont. I have my resume on indeed and zip recruiter and nothing but crickets in the last month or you when you do get an email its to tell you to pi-s off but thanks for applying.

Look for another job and quit doing the job you have while you collect a pay check until they figure it out, this company will be dead in a couple years anyways.

That's true, before when it was a lump sum you could argue it was worth staying if you could line up a job quickly. Now that it is just unemployment assistance it isn't worth sticking around for.

"One can only hope"

Well, if you WANT to be laid off, you could always quit. The severance isn't worth staying for so why stay? If you're hoping to lose your job, just leave. And for anyone who gives this a thumbs down, why? It serves zero purpose to remain at a job you HOPE to be let go from when the severance package is essentially non existent.

HR broke the pattern recently by sniping people on 4th Thursday instead. And this month has five. Maybe they'll do two rounds to celebrate leap year.
