Chevron INVENTED quiet quitting. Headquarters functions are perenially packed with these zombies.
I had two jobs for 3 years 1999 thru 2021 , one at Chevron. In 2020 I got to WFH for almost 10 months until EOI in December , on average I worked 1 hour day on Chevron stuff in 2020. Now after 2 years WFH at my remaining job I must admit I'm the happiest I ever been NOT having to fake QQ at Chevron.
This is not a new idea. Lots of Chevron employees, especially if they don't make management, 'quietly quit' around age 50 and just glide into retirement. This has been going on for decades. The QQers are pros at getting an 'average' rating while doing minimal work and making that van pool every day. This was MW's whole idea of offering an EOI you couldn't turn down in 2020 - he wanted to get rid of all the QQ's.
I’m going to quietly quit going to the bathroom for half hour breaks each and every day. I’ll start taking only 10 minutes tops to pinch a loaf.
@2aci, Yes indeed, like the majority of the CVX employees who post on this site and still collect a paycheck.

I've always been in complete control of my own destiny (as humanly possible) and I'm neither retired nor do I work for CVX, but, OK, whatever.
Retirement is fantastic. You are in complete control of your destiny.
