I heard most Wipro and Sapient contracts will being terminated or at best not be extended but it's not being announced. Just terminate one by one or not extend so it won't make big news.. I heard this from a SG32 in people team. I am 31 and have log consultants in my team. Here to see if any one else have more insights. I am tired of these constant changes. My project fund got slashed leading to hiring freeze and finally work got cancelled due to issues with delivery! They expected 3 people doing 6 peoples work, of the 3, one is in offshore with no domain knowledge. Now this...I was told I can hire another fte offshore but not onshore. wtf is going on?

@29g find roles, get referrals and apply. I was a consultant from one of the WITCH firms and I am now FTE now. Looking to escape this sh-t hole now so be careful what you wish for, this is a very toxic place for FTEs
@29g Sapient contracts are NOT being extended beyond this matter, this is being enforced at the CTO level, this will save more money than any AI cr-p slop teams are building
@a8 Rather have them have some basic level of knowledge on how to navigate AWS than an entire codebase and why architectural decisions were made -- something they could never achieve. FTEs can learn AWS no problem, it's just the FTEs here shouldn't be wearing the hats of being a fullstack dev, QA, devops, defining requirements, etc. etc. on applications as massive the ones at Optum are.
Any idea if Sapient contract will be terminated in OA, OI or ORX? I was specifically employed by Sapient for the project I am working on , no FTEs knows the technology, any chance I can get converted to FTE? Who can make that decision?
2 less #sapientslops today. Contracts were terminated. It's time for FTEs to reclaim control. We are paying so much for people that won't be here for long and all knowledge is gone not that they did anything useful but they learnt a lot on our expense and go use it for other clients.
#SapientSlop is a real phenomenon.
They are trained to act like they know and understand anything that's thrown at them but deliver nothing. They are experts in copy pasting contents around form one client to another, give them a real problem and watch them deflect and steer.
She's the worst. How is she even here!? Sick of her AI BS. She has not built one thing to know how it works in production. Sending stupid AI newsletter doesn't count!
@cf Totally agree! Dy-e Zmuda as she is know in my circle ⭕ is the worst. She looked greasy at the last town all, looks like she had a rough night. Why tf she was even there..I could have said the cr-p she said and passed the mic on to 2 other slops whom I know personally and they don't do sh-t. All contractors and these execs take all the credit and the bonus. Yes I hope they get rid of Wipro and sapient slops. They are most useless and only here on contract because the execs wine and dine with VPs , offer free travel and perks. Sapient threw an exhorbitant steak house wine and dine, Martini's and co-ktails flying around few months ago when it was time for contract negotiations. Our Indian Sr. Dir and VP were tipsy n I ordered Uber to their rooms at the W. Indians are the most corrupt people and they are the ones signing these contracts. Not saying Americans are not corrupt but it's almost normalized in the Indian culture.. btw, I am Indian. And I have worked for sapient before with a different client before I joined Optum Tech. Sapient is nor what it used to be, especially after Pubis take over, its just a bunch of incompetent folks that could not get a full full to time job and sapient poached them and charging Optum 250+ per hour. Wipro is no better but alreast they charge a lot lower.
Zmuda is mind blowing to me because she doesnt even try to fake her competence, she will go on camera for 3 minutes talking nonsense then peace out, and pivot to a pre recorded video. Wish i could so that!
@a8 I can confirm. This was the topic of discussion in the closed workshop couple weeks ago. I know because I was there. The way things are going I am afraid I might be let go as well though that has not been communicated. We have a royal je-k SriCharity running the show now and nobody is safe under him and Zmuda.. you will not survive unless you are a lying scoundrel of a brown-noser. If you dont show cost savings and AI builds, you will be eliminated or pushed out of their org. They are targeting 30% onshore reduction. If you are working on legacy platforms or cloud/platform migration work you can be assured you will be eliminated within 1-2 years.
@a8 all contractors have to be terminated at some point. It's Optum's fault for using contractors for critical projects instead of hiring talent/training FTEs. Too many useless slacker FTEs laying around doing nothing. And contractors all doing sloppy work with no proper technical oversight. Sapient is the WORST. not only they provide slops like TCS but they also charge 4 time's more, starting at around $200/hr. I inherited 2 on my team su-king out budget dry. The direction from the new management is to get rid of them and invest on AI training my FTEs and start using AI for Devops. Using AI for development seems like a stretch, only works for POCs. This company cannot get anything right ever anymore with greedy management whose only goal is cost cutting. This is an old plane about to crash. All I can say is be prepared.
Wipro migrated 90% of our org's infrastructure over to AWS and they hold all the knowledge. If they get terminated and big issues come up, we are sc--wed.

OP - I know I am losing one that's ending in September, extension was not approved. But offshore is no problem. Expect everyone getting replaced by AI ie An Indian in India.
@OP even. FTEs are being terminated. So not surprised at this one. I hope they termination the god forsaken TCS slops, they are the worst! They have no concept of quality and all incredibly timid as they have been groomed not to question anything.
