Thread regarding Ovintiv layoffs

Who is running this company?

I have never seen a more chaotic and poorly managed business in my long career. Letting go of some of your best and hardest working people never ends well. If the Board and CEO were trying to streamline the company, they failed miserably.

My advice: Bring back the good, hard-working people who were let go and fire the CEO.

Talk about talent decisions. The VP of Texas, US, North America, Earth, etc… has promoted two blonde females to senior manger positions that don’t fit their qualifications. Engineer to SM of Geology and better yet a non technical degree to SM of facilities construction and operations. Meanwhile solid experienced folks are being let go. BM & GG I’m sure are proud!!!

@OP I agree and it’s unfortunate. Not a very flat company as it should be and way too many branches still. Likely just buying time until a bigger fish gobbles it up. Only a matter of time.

For 15 years, this company has generated more losers than winners, internally and externally, often trading one for the other. A disappointing decline from what it once was. It’s fat Elvis now, just waiting to die on the toilet.
