Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

This place is pure poison

I’ve never encountered anything more draining or destructive. If you value your sanity, steer clear of F5 and never look back. The energy here will eat you alive... Trust me, I learned the hard way. Save yourself the trouble and run far away!

Zero exaggeration. It’s that bad.

When the leader is a narcissist who knows nothing about products or customers, that's when employees realize that it doesn't matter how great the products are, how awesome their colleagues or how amazing their customers. It's a miracle that F5 is still around. Many employees are beginning to understand this.

There’s a level of this. There’s like an environmental justice component to it.

That’s why “leaders” get their stocks and leave after 2 years. Most of them talk nonsense about working hard together and the bright future. Zero credibility and trust! They think they run a kindergarten full of kids. Go figure!

@4cv I left for more money. You live and you learn they say… I should have kept the interesting job, great boss, and secure employment.

@3jw, why did they fire you? Certainly you wouldn’t have left such a great place?

@3hs There is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires. What we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the office.

@2dg I worked for Check Point Software for several years and they do not do lay offs. Like, ever. They also don't bloat management and they give people Head titles vs VP titles. Everyone was there to work. There were no figure heads there.

"I’ve never encountered anything more draining or destructive."

You didn't work for many crops then. All of them, filled with clueless middle management are sick places for a... lickers. Lies, lies, lies, fake reports, fake smiles and politics. Stay away from this s... . It's the only way to stay sane.

@26j I found the feedback to be quite honest and helpful. Letting people know not to waste their time here is helpful feedback. In fact, I completely agree and second these thoughts. Furthermore, I wish I saw them before I went there myself. I wasn't fired or let go. I resigned after I was punished for making a complaint about a male sales manager. Seems you missed an option...

In fact, the male sales manager still works there and from what I understand he is still telling terrible jokes that nobody laughs at.

Their CPO wrote a letter to the board (early 2022 released to all shareholders via Fidelity) stating she received no (not one) complaints about the culture in the entire year that had just passed. It was a blatant falsehood and manipulation. Frankly, I couldn't believe what I was reading, as I knew I had complained and I knew others did too. They did many questionable things. DO NOT speak up or fall for any of that noise. They absolutely will not do the "right thing".

So, yes, it's quite draining and destructive over there, at least it was for me.

“If you think you're safe from being RIFd there are 2400 people over the last 8 years that thougjt the same”

You’re not safe from being RIFd anywhere. GTFU and realize no company believes they owe you anything. Keep learning, keep a positive attitude, and you’ll get another job or start your own. Whine and cry about it and you’ll never find another job - who would want that attitude that certainly comes across in interviews. Move on if you get laid off. Change careers if you have to. Stop whining about your previous employer, who ever it is. Do you expect to be employed by one company your whole life? Or even in one industry? GTFU.

"Someone needs to leave F5. Or if already gone… wow… get a life. Move on. Your juvenile, non-constructive criticisms sort of demonstrate why you’re either a low performer unhappy at F5 or got fired. Were your meeting contributions anything like these comments? Wow.:"

Operate as a one-person business. Assume nothing, expect everything. Stay away from internal politics. Your mindset is your friend. Don't buy BS about "family" and you will be OK.
