Everyone becomes a communist when it comes to losing their jobs.
Well this is a business friendly capitalist province and under the leadership of the conservatives will not allow communist unions to ruin it.
If you want to live in USSR, build a time machine and go there.
Alberta is for the hard working capitalists who love free markets.
I am not sure why Smith hasn't outlawed the unions and spread conservative pro business policies in Alberta rather than propagating this nonsense.
Companies exist to create profits, not feed people by providing unemployment.
Smith could be the new Thatcher and save Alberta from the communists.

@246 this is true; This exclusion applies to licensed professional engineers (regulated by APEGA — the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) when they are working as professionals. Similar exclusions cover doctors, dentists, architects, lawyers, and nurse practitioners in their professional roles. It can only be changed by government amendments as it has been in limited fashion in other provinces.

@22s Licensed professional engineers (P.Eng.) working in their professional capacity are excluded from unionization under Alberta’s main labour law.

@22d stop spreading misinformation. Engineers have same rights as anyone else to unionize. Some exception maybe if you are in management roles.
