Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Parts, How are we supposed to fix it if we can't get them???

Parts is a mess. Long gone are the days where you could order a part and actually get it the next day. Now when you order a part, it processes the next day and then ships out usually on the 3rd day if you're lucky. Everything is on back order..

Management is saying that it is still Issues left over from the pandemic. The lack of truck drivers to to deliver and bring the parts to our suppliers and then to us.

I get emails from the EO desk to ship back a part that I have in my inventory but the minute I send it back I will need it.

Parts is just one of the problems on the Xerox wagon driving into obscurity.......

Like another poster said, Green Parts are a joke. Just yanked out of a scrap machine and shipped. No test at all.

This happened during the tsunami in 2012. Drove inventory down so low on years prior and we could never catch up after that. I do believe some of this is covid related but exaggerated/exasperated/accelerated (pick the right word) by management decisions.

@1ziv+1cuINGvP, All those products you mentioned are things that consumers/businesses might actually want/need. You think there’s some HUGE demand for printers right now? The top of every CFO & CIO’s priority list for sure!

Never let a good crisis go to waste: 2011 tsunami in Japan was the excuse at other 5-letter copier company for not being able to ship parts, toner, etc. These excuses are reasonable to an extent but if anyone thinks junk companies don’t get extra mileage out of them they’re delusional.

Everything is COVID COVID COVID. Some things actually are related to this. But Most of Xerox’s issues are preplanned and for the good of a few only.
That’s the corporate mentality that has allowed this to escalate to this point.
Before this it was Green parts. (Used). Nothing like putting used parts in a customers machine. Real credibility let me assure you. This place deserves everything it gets.
Oh wait … just blame covid. It’s easier. 🦠 Not the case here.

The world is running out of everything or are people not paying attention. Want a motor for a boat? 15 months. Want an electrical box for your house? You can’t find one. Want a circuit for a installation? 90 days. Want a laptop 60 days. I know ya all just want to blame xerox for everything and mostly you are correct but theirs is a global industry agnostic issue.

they tried to eliminate inventory as much as possible to help the books, then global supply chain blew up, double whammy

This affects all vendors and makers of electronic devices - whether Xerox, Ricoh, HP or KM. Keep an open mind, research the facts first. If you don't know why, then find out, do some research.

This is not isolated to Xerox. Same issues across all vendors right now. Going to get worse before it gets better. Global slowdown on production in general and less manpower to deliver parts.

That’s one of the Reasons that I Left this Preposterous Mess. No one cares to actually fix problems anymore.
All they care about is don’t make waves and adhere to ridiculous corporate policies.
No one in management is worried about you fixing anything, just conform to policies of the day and don’t ask any questions. What a wonderful place to be. Just Swell.
