Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

EMEA Town Hall - How are they going to spin the updates??

With the lack of comms from the Exec Leadership team since Feb, Steve Turpie leaving without a trace, Technology Stack being reprofiled into GIS & GBS, IBM merger rumours and the pay review being pulled at the last minute - It will be interesting how the Town Hall will play out tomorrow….There are going to be so many questions of which I doubt we will get answers!

This Halbard guy is such a Bllshitter.

On the call he says we need to do cost optimization no pay raises, and the reasons he gives are because we are bureaucratic, we have broken processes, slow to respond. Such a big pop at Mikey after 3 years of running DXC Mikey has failed.

Mikey you need to answer back or accept you have failed as Halbard has made it public on a town hall so one of you is wrong.

Mike Salvino imported a small army of cronies from Accenture with zero experience in the real world. His appointment of Turpie - a failed procurement id--t from insurance, has been a disaster. Chris Halbard is a former Accenture finance excel jockey, not a business leader. They sold the healthcare business as COVID struck, failed to sell BPO then pulled the sale of Workplace & Mobility as the world pivoted to Work From Home.

I'm sure Chris ballshitter liar halbard at one stage reckoned they could do savings of $800million, not 500.

Halbard is so short term he makes Mike Self ino look like a good guy.

Halbard only knows lie, speak figures and cuts, not people, motivation, or quality.

They will have to physically remove halbard from Mike's rear end at some stage, when halbard gets his marching orders he will realise what it's like to sh--e on people.

Until then this company is going down fast.

Does anyone understand the plane analogy? He said something like:

"Anyone can land a plane, Anyone can change an engine and then fly the plane again, what we are trying to do is fly a plane and change the engine mid air"

Well, if that's the aim then I feel it's impossible!

Also, he seemed to make out that the $500 million CTO required was all because of the EMEA region!

Was this a town hall meeting with logo/project wins?
Or was it a cover for a bully to tell everyone how he is going to sh*t on you for 30 minutes.

What was the point of that culture week nonsense, who cares about a quiz held in July?
I really don't understand how he could sit there talking about DXC Values and Culture whilst showing such contempt to staff and being so dismissive of our concerns.

Post @1zcm+1iHXnj6u:

"This guy halbard isn't going to last, if his telling so much bull to the staff, his not going to last 3 months with customers as they will see through him quick.

He has no charisma, is just talking short term cut, not quality. Customers are going to leave shortly."

This guy Halbard will last. Why do I say this?

  • He's lying to staff and customers - that's in line with what Shouty wants him to do
  • Short-term cutting is the DXC way - that's in line with what Shouty wants him to do
  • He's making vague promises about what "could' happen if DXC "exceeds" targets, without being specific about either of them.

Sounds like a perfect DXC leader to me.

What a joke. He says he can't keep everyone happy, try none. Only people happy are the execs with their obscene rewards

I note Chris stated on the call that he was "very careful and precise withe the words and language" that he used in his E-mail.
I therefore assume he was as careful with:
"If we are able to EXCEED those targets, we COULD revisit plans around MERIT increases"

Why "exceed"? Surely one sets a target to "meet"?

Why the use of "could" instead of will, shall or may? You "could" do that "now" or you "could" not bother even if targets are exceeded.

Why "merit" increases? Is the company not capable of working on even an assumed cost of living change year to year and including that as part of their forecasting? Jeez, we have enough Excel jockeys in the company (just not enough "doers")

After that, all I'm left thinking is:

"(Comparatively) Steve Turpie was a great leader"
&
"Who's this Mike Salvino bloke? Can't remember him'

This is the worst Town Hall, worse than the one Self fee no flipped on.

This guy halbard isn't going to last, if his telling so much bull to the staff, his not going to last 3 months with customers as they will see through him quick.

He has no charisma, is just talking short term cut, not quality. Customers are going to leave shortly.

Within a year EMEA will have 3 bosses goodbye chris look forward to signing your card.

He had a pop at the competitors Atos and Kyndryl that DXC is doing better than them.

Such a contradictory statement.

They are giving pay rises you aren't.

So you are doing better than them, but choosing not to pay/reward staff.

Think it actually means they look after their staff and you don't.

And you aren't doing better your just deluding yourself by saying your doing better.

So many lies we are doing well

We're doing well financially, clients coming to us, people want to come to us, looking after people, we want to invest, we better than our customers

but .......

Pay deferred, so all is well but no pay except for the execs.

This is going downhill fast, no way this company is going to achieve anything. You don't look after people it's clear.

All you want to do is skrew the staff.

Wow and expected Hu4ll Barred thinks pay cut is a good idea and he said it.

"We need to invest in certain areas" - clearly they no longer want/can't handle/can't sell to BAE and are leaving it completely fall apart ant not get renewed.

Will be interesting to read about what's said in this session. Some predictions:

  • Work harder. We've sacked more of you, so the ones who're left need to fill the gaps.
  • You want a pay rise? No chance, all the spare cash is going to Shouty & his steak-cutter
  • There will be more beatings until morale improves
  • We're going to be running more rounds of WFR, so if you don't want to be sacked, work harder

No scope for asking questions, as they won't like trying to answer difficult questions.

The main thing is to ask those questions so they are able to see the tidal direction of the staff's mood and not the direction they will try and take you to. They may not answer (as this term 'transparency' can often be a one-way mirror), but at least it will have been asked or recorded.

Please join the townhall tomorrow. We will cover a ton of interesting stuff like Charles accession as Monarch, health and wellness clinics, financial wellness sessions and Ofcourse salary rises to the colonial minions not to mention we will pay respects to her majesty. Please do consider turning on your videos and fire away the questions to keep it interesting.

I’m left wondering why people attend the town hall meetings at all. Wouldn’t it send a stronger message if absolutely nobody even showed up for the meeting?

Its gonna be a bore fest, I used to doze off when he used to do his numbers segment when good ole turpsteiner was around.

No doubt Louise will be her cheery self acting like were the bees knees.

No point in asking questions really, as they will just scurf over the difficult ones and concentrate on the easy ones. I'll probably ask some stuff anyway though

My guess because our leaders are utterly clueless or just don't care the agenda will be

1 minute on Steve Turpie
4 minutes on Q1 results and so no merit rewards,
5 minutes on Man Utd
15 minutes on DXC Culture
15 minutes on DXC Values
15 minutes on goals setting, mid year reviews
Sorry no time of Q&A, we can't answer pay questions until the FY23 merit review process is completed in July 23. Anything else please ask your manager.

Shortly followed by majority of employees just logging off and never to return.

When it should be
2 minutes Steve Turpie
58 minutes trying and failing to justify their utter failure
