Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Q3 and Q4 layoffs

I’ve been told there are two layoffs scheduled in Q3 and Q4 within BTS.

Can this be confirmed?

I guess it's the pharmacy's turn now that the move to ESI is done.

This morning and yesterday The Tampa Office parking to the front of the building will filled at like 7AM. I have seen Sarah on Monday and the third floor building where she is ay has been filled with people. Again don't know what to make of it but if I had to guess something is coming down by the end of Q2. Yes I work on the opposite site of the third floor building...so I can see what is going on.

I’d guess they are considering getting rid of more real estate in Tampa/surrounding areas. The building lease may be up soon, or at least far enough into the agreement to break out for a fee.

That or…sell Medicare like Cigna did.
Can’t hold that call in St Louis.

Sarah was in Tampa today (Monday) 6/10 on the 3rd floor. Got a glimpse of her. Don't know what to make of it.... I have also seen Drew Asher on the floor as well.

Thousands of others are already fighting for the same jobs - Centene is not the only healthcare management company that has laid off thousands of employees over the course of the last 3 - 4 years. Molina, UHC and BCBS just to name a few laid off thousands right before Christmas 2023. This market is a nightmare - there are going to be way more people on unemployment and eventually losing everything because there are not enough jobs anymore. Everyone can thank the greedy ba----ds that decided that overcharging and taking advantage of members during Covid resulting in a litany of lawsuits for it all. And lets not mention how having Centene on your CV makes it even harder now. No one wants people that are connected to Centene to work for them. Buckle up buttercup it's going to be one he-l of a ride.

Medicare is confirmed leaving several states including Alabama, New Mexico, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and a couple other smaller ones.

Q3/Q4??? That’s news to me. I actually expect it to happen this month, before the end of Q2.

My team has about 15 employees (full time and contractors), and the workload is not enough for 5 people.

Normally I would have heard but have not.

I recently heard that Medicare is exiting some markets so guaranteed market-based layoffs there before/by the end of the year.

Could be. Seems like Centene's plan from what history has shown. They tend to let people go around September and December. Merry Christmas. Sad but true. Biggest worry should be when Cigna buys CNC over the next 2 years. If you wait to see for yourself, you'll regret it. Plan your escape now before thousands of other are fighting for the same jobs in the market.
