Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC time

What ghastly happened to DXC time, I thought it was supposed to replace all the duplicate time entry systems.

I haven't heard about it for 2 year. I'm sure it was said Drumgoole had it all in hand and the rollout was to be completed.

Mike seems to promise a load on them town halls, seem like tickboxes, but nothing seems to materialize.

The words "simple" and "global billing system" do not fit in the same sentence. The belief that billing is simple is a major reason why these problems have not been solved to date.

If this company can't implement something as simple as a global billing system, how in Hades can they commit to any project for an international client?

"In the "difficult" countries it also needs works council approval."
By difficult do you mean the countries that don't let companies treat their people like Sh#t

"It's not a trivial integration... "
What your saying is that DXC management systems are in a mess and its hard. Boohoo you knew that when you told us you's deliver it this year. If DXC can't manage itself what hope do its customers have.

Each country has its own finance system and probably where there are multiple companies they also could have different systems... so each needs to have the labour load mechanism reconstructed to allow the use of a new time entry system.

In the "difficult" countries it also needs works council approval.

It's not a trivial integration...

I remember when you had to do TES over the phone, such a backwards company.

These process inefficiencies certainly add layers of cost, which they then recoup through another WFR programme. Rinse and repeat.

Organic growth?

Yeah. Right.

It's laughable, the very managers who bleat on and insist on automation are the ones insisting you fill out 4 to 5 timeshares every week so they can have meetings.

Then they extract all the data and produce fancy graphs and have meetings about meetings.

The amount of overhead this is creating is phenomenal but they seem to get away with.

They create this activity so they can book to a wbs as they have nothing useful to do like grow the company.

With managers working at this level of admin overhead the company will never go forward as they are always backward focused.

Something needs to be done quick as it's out of hand now.

We are trying to get timesheets into Platform - X-X, where in customer will automatically enter timesheets for dxc employees -... And generate the monthly account invoice... And pay the invoice as well. This is the best innovation and digital transformation that we are working on - please be patient.

As an outsider, the inability to agree and execute a clear policy on a basic admin task is likely promulgated throughout the more complex processes and Governance of who is responsible for what. That inability for the leadership to consolidate everyone behind a clear strategic direction and to be able to execute on that is why it continues to lose revenue, which I see from last quarters figures is down again, blames on restructuring, Ukraine, fuel, economic situation, US inflation, Barney the purple dinosaur, whatever.

if a company can’t agree on what system to use to record time, it will waste huge amounts in unnecessary unproductive time whilst they procrastinate and seemingly fail to implement a common internal HR platform. Would any customer trust this company to support their applications modernisation programme, if they see that they can’t even organise their own Internal IT applications. Speaks volumes.

Sad to see this. For me, one timesheet, one place, 5 minutes a week max. Anything more is silly.

I'm filling out 4 systems and have been asked fill out another.

The different managers are making out they are mandatory.

Where's these edicts coming from.

Surely Mike intruct the managers to stop thuis useless waste, and also sending a basic email that everyone should only be filling in 1 system.

The number of man hours it would save across the company would have a huge positive impact.

@1ynv

I don't know which group and legacy entity you are from.

I am also from India and fill multiple time tools, apart from constant pings from assignment manager on my projects. sigh.

DXC Time was supposed to be rolled out to me on April 2022. As of last week, the person responsible for DXC Time admitted there are lot of issues and there is no set timeframe for roll out now.

Like all my colleagues, using DXC time (only) since its introduction back in October 24 2022 - working in India where they usually put a process on an integrated tool in place to keep control ?

You guys are busy filling timesheets - whereas the exec's are busy collecting share options and customers are busy cancelling contracts and ejecting out.

I'm filling out 3 different systems, a couple have been inveted by middle managers.

You would think they would give an ultimatum to those managers to stop the unnecessary filling.

What happened to DXC initiative or whatever it was called, the thing that was supposed to streamline unnecessary processes and costs.

Some people are on DXC Time. Cutover for everyone else was supposed to be July but its been delayed no deadline announced. Mr Shouty's doing what we say we're going to do doesn't apply internally (or externally).
