Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Poor team morale

I am in a team that brands itself as “new” since everyone came externally due to the on going regulatory issues. However, the MD of this team is clearly on a retirement path and is looking to just get paid and and coast through for the next few years under the “we are here to solve the MRAs” The MD has hired a bunch of folks who are 55plus and these older folks have hired their friends who have no desire to change the bank or make things better.

The young folks in this team are sick and tired of this lazy management who has no subject matter expertise and does not add any value to the business they support.

What do you think is the best move ? I am pretty sure this team is going to get canned sooner than later but I would like to protect my job giving that Me and a few other folks on the team are young and actually are here to help the bank and in turn make a career.

Any tips form individuals in this situation would be helpful.

The problem is the creation of SS at all.

So go pick up your pu-e, pu-e.

Every team or group has low morale right now based on poor leadership. Started when Charlie showed up and continues to trend downward with each new hire in leadership.

Reagan put SS in the general fund and now it is a bunch of IOUs. THAT is where the problems started. Before it was kept in a separate lockbox as far as budget to prevent this.

Instead of regurgitating talking points handed to you, find out how the world really works. You might be surprised at the real story.

Boomers worked 60 hour work weeks at one time too.

Then when their job got sent to India and they were laid off after 20 years of doing that, they knew better.

You’ll find out. Corporate America could care less about you.

@1ylq, Most old people always had to work.
Companies quit offering pensions as they were forced to use those funds to contribute more and more toward the SS Ponzie scheme with zero percent return.
We do have the best health care in the world but it could be 100x better with less government interference. Health insurance is the biggest scam since higher education and it's all because of insane government policies where people have no idea what they're paying for and someone else picks up most of the bill anyway.

@1ylq+1hvNpjJs Obviously there are a lot of causes, but the disproportionately high population of the boomer generation continually voting against social programs until they found themselves in need of them didn't help.

What happened in the US empire that requires elderly people to still need to work ? Why doesn't this dump have pensions and real health care etc..etc.. You don't see this that much in other countries--old folks trudging to work. What was it about the US specifically that made older people need to work so much when they're supposed to be enjoying themselves. At @65-70year, most only have abt @5-8 more years of healthy life.

@bfz Boomers throw a damn fit if you ask them to actually do a full hour work day
Millennials and older Gen Z are out here working 60 hour work weeks. About 20 of those hours are teaching their boomer coworkers how to use their computers.

Be in that dept long enough to add to to your resume. Move to another company. WF is not about making careers, it’s about using you too they don’t need you anymore.

In my experience many boomers have a better work ethic than many millennials / Gen Z’s …. Of course one can’t put people in boxes, which is what you are trying to do, so I am responding in kind. Either you are extremely unfortunate that you have landed up in such a scenario. or you are extremely biased .

Yep, that's the problem with working with a bunch of boomers.

Extremely lazy and entitled, way out of touch and set in their ways. Wells Fargo is full of these type of managers. Get out while you still can, before the low morale sucks you in and you become one of them.
