What the he-l is this org doing?

Enough with the DEI derangement bs. If you believe that nonsense, you probably too stupid to wipe properly.
Does Windstream screensavers still indoctrinate with DEI propaganda? Are they still creating ESGs and the monthly newsletter?
Perhaps this is why employees are citing DEI as one of the cogs in the wheel used to determine who is kept and who is let go - seems a valid observation IMO

Yep, even I believe that’s true, hate to say it, but I fit right in there. I really think they’re scared to let me/us go at this point…
Thats a bunch of BS that DEI had nothing to do with who was selected. There were entire teams of experts in the NOCs that were dumped, 95% of the group was let go, and the ones that were kept on, 80% fit into a DEI catagory.
There were two people in that group that us techs relied on getting the obscure issues fixed who were able to figure out this stuff.
What a surprise it was to us to find out these people were let go. Now there is no way to get these issues fixed, escalating to engineering is no good either now that they are getting fed up with this place and leaving for greener pastures.
DEI having nothing do with this, is straight up what I'd expect to hear from someone in HR. Then again, this place is great at allowing people who have no clue to fail up into positions.
DEI has nothing to do with any of the layoffs or who's staying and who's going. I don't know why this thread turned into such a farce. Perhaps too many participants looked at the damn sun on Monday. It sounds like MTG took over this thread. Probably Georgia people here going on about the DEI
The layoffs were like the Titanic, first it was the males that were let go to meet the numbers, once there were no more males to give up they then went for the women, then the blacks, and I'm sad to say, the g-ys are no longer safe.
It can be hard to swallow, even for the g-ys, but no one is safe here anymore.
Its time to abandon ship, it doesn't matter anymore if there are some kids you have to throw out of the life boats. You have to save yourselves.
Yeah not sure where the DEI stuff is coming into play relating to the topic at hand?
Are you all being replaced by people from protected class or something?
They seem to be firing everyone indiscriminately.
They are just cutting costs and outsourcing everything to overseas so they don't have to pay Americans. Not a DEI initiative, but a cost-cutting measure implemented by a clueless management team.
This post went full conspiracy theorist quick. The folks chopping heads don't care who you are or how you identify. When your number comes up you are out. I've watched all races religions and identities get marched out. You are only helping windstreams anti-worker long game if you bark up the wrong tree.
@2bol+1rWMTybV It's been happening longer than 2 years. Closer to 4. Never forget what they did to us, vaxx "suggestions", mandatory for directors and above. Mask requirements, even though science (and the labels on the box) told us they did not stop transmission of anything viral. the endless diversity and inclusion training. As I worked two full time jobs during that time I had to sit through that BS twice.
Nothing like watching your peers get walked out the door and being told by management, that it wasn't based on their performance, pay, or education as to why they were let go, once you eliminate that, theres not much else to look at besides the DEI metrics.
I seriously hope some day there is a lawsuit regarding this, I'll sign up in a heartbeat.
HR should be sick to their stomachs about what has been going on the past 2 years at this place.

Gospel
Now do the D.E.I. team, waste of company money!
Well wasnt TT in accounting? That worked out great didnt it? Not sure whos overpaid but it isnt me and i have been trying to leave this place but if you have been here a few years it has to be on your resume so it hurts when applying for other jobs or if u try to leave it off theres a gap. Sh---y job and now you cant wipe it off the bottom of your shoes to get out of here
There is still quite a lot of really large useless paychecks being handed out at this once upon a time Fortune 500 fiasco. If you are in management here and you know you’re really nothing but a BS artist, your time is definitely short. Elliott wants this POS sold.
I have a lot to write that I'm not here. Suffice to say I think he had some good ideas but projects would constantly change without teams having a chance to even get their feet under them and build any momentum.
The new CMO I don't have high hopes for. He doesn't strike me as someone that knows marketing just finance. That is probably why JS loves him since JS doesn't get marketing either and thinks accountants are the smartest people on the planet.

Ever consider that Windstream has a habit of underpaying you and your benchmark for the "market value" compensation is propaganda force-fed to you by upper management?
You're probably grateful for the opportunity to be underpaid and function as another yes man and have no sense of self-worth.
Yep, get your knee pads ready, hopefully that move still works and now that we are a diverse company, even the guys can do it.
Won’t be long now. The sign is in the yard.

There is definitely bloat in the marketing org but the CMO had a true vision on how to implement much needed cohesiveness between branding messaging, etc. It's a process to roll this stuff out when you are gifted an unorganized sh*tshow.
How does the new CMO at all compare, what is his pedigree or qualification for MARKETING?
They needed to spend money on talent to attract folks because everything else is in disarray, as it still is. Curious to know what you think the organization was doing well and now there is an individual with literally no marketing experience at the helm.
Leadership is a joke, the president is a joke. This is a consumer product and they have no clue that you need to establish an actual brand that evokes emotion to appeal to buyers these days. There needs to be cohesion and quality should not only be illustrated, but validated by functional service as well(which is also in disarray).
Thoughts?
The CMO hired a bunch of folks for way above market value and his projects have constantly floundered since he was hired. He was WAY out of his depth and had no idea how to stimulate growth.
