Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Ratings distribution

Our HR is so bad it's almost funny. We've had a lot of RIFs. Presumably the people left were the ones who were center-right on the ratings curve. NOW we will need to re-calibrate all of them lower even though they are absorbing extra work and longer hours to cover for the associates who were let go. Talk about punching associates in the nuts. More work, longer hours, lower rating. But, hey, you are the most valuable resource we have.

Happening already. Not just providers, clients as well.

As providers we hate calling in, to people(offshore) who don’t understand the health care system in United States. Wouldn’t doubt if providers start pulling contracts.

I was RIF’d because I hit the magic age / salary combo that made me a target.

All corporate lurkers - could someone find out what actual incentive there is for doing a good job? If you're partially meeting anyway, if you're going to be rifed anyway. What do you think is motivating anyone to keep this garbage pile afloat? Genuinely asking. It feels like the motivation is:::::: we haven't rifed you yet, so you may as well work here so we don't have to keep hiring people to hit you with a stick.
Is this an even D-er list SAW movie? Where you're locked in a room for people's entertainment and have to cut your own leg off for the chance to survive, all the while, the people who locked you in are going to Taylor Swift and invitation only vintage Gucci auctions while telling everyone who hard it is for them to do this to you.

Weird. I don’t remember giant bonuses for the past few years when the stock was going crazy.

Please dont drink the kool-aid they're serving. There were also high performers who got RIFd because of their salaries. Corporate America be a dirty game. Keep your eyes and ears open so you dont bamboozled into believing a bunch of lies.

Is anyone expecting a decent AIP or any AIP next year? This is so not funny.

This is a really good point....

Either the RIF'd people weren't actually lower performing (and then why were they RIF'd?), OR if they were ... then the new 'average performance' is going to be much harder to hit this year compared to last year.

Like a corporate Hunger Games or some other cruel reality show

Of course Gail will probably get her bonuses.

Weird. GBD Enounters just rifed and now just posted 2 open positions for people they riffed. I heard it was so they could promote from within. Still why do you need to post open positions to promote people who deserve it. Are they really going to fill position after they just riffed? Such a slap in the face. This company makes no sense

Yup, HR has instructed that they expect to see partially meets if there is anyone in the exceeds category. Merit and AIP conversations are not looking good.
