The entire BCoE (benefits center of excellence) organization is moving to WiPro as of 8/1/24. We were just told this morning. We will no longer be Elevance Health employees.

Let me start by saying how sorry I am to those affected by this!
Is anyone willing to provide details? Do you have seniority, PTO, same salary, bonus, healthcare, etc? I believe the inside info may be helpful to the next group this happens to - it seems it is becoming the new norm.
Wipro has already sc--wed up CAID claims, disputes, and adjustments over the past several years. 0 f*cks given from anyone that doesn't have to clean up that mess. Saving money to spend more money down the road with another dept fixing it and paying interest to the providers. Yeah, great way to run a business. At least she's getting hers though!
Your social security number is already overseas. Everything about you is stored in the cloud. All of your healthcare data, driver's license, address, credit score... just about every large company/government entity uses AWS and/or Snowflake .
With the strict reporting and compliance with GBD state contracts, we will end up losing Medicaid.
Yes, every c-suite has taken the ai pill. Whether it works or not doesn’t matter. The savings promised means either job no longer necessary (ai) or if ai doesn’t work then job is shipped to lower cost worker. Either way the balance sheet needs to match the ai hype.
When manufacturing jobs moved to China, we all blamed automation. Now our office jobs are moving to India, we all blamed AI and automation.
Do you believe that?

No surprise. The CEO’s job description is to increase shareholder value. Period. That’s what a CEO is tasked to do by the board. Cutting staff (under the guise of increased efficiency) is one way to do it. Becker’s reported last week that Elevance is taking a $700M write down for reduction of “assets”. Some of it is buildings, some of it is us. Becker’s ranked us #7 in the healthcare payer industry for layoffs. Being the quality insurer that we all know we strive to be, let’s work harder to be #1 in the industry!
As to the AI part…if you’ve used our AI tool, its nothing to write home about.
People overseas will mostly have access to SSNs and personal information. But the main concern is GBD dept moving to Wipro. With Wipro being head-quartered in India, many job cuts probably to happen in the US. And also, in the short term Wipro may rebadge many employees, in the long term this is not looking good.
I am surprised how is Gail or Sr Management taking these radical decisions. Is AI the reason behind these decisions? Nervously looking at Aug'24.
How scary ! That people overseas will have our SSN and personal information !
Any idea of the numbers of people involved?
Is this everyone under Felicia N?
Wow! What happen to the American dream. They are taking our jobs away here in the states. Best of luck!
Elevance is no longer about the member experience. They don't care about members at all, it's all about profit. While I do understand how capitalism works, and that companies need to constantly show an increasing profit level to their Shareholders and Board, that should never be at the expense of the member.
It will be interesting to hear A) how many of these Elevance employees stick around with Wipro (either leaving voluntarily or getting kicked to the curb once Wipro "thinks" they know how to automate benefits) B) how many claims deny or pay incorrectly once they implement AI. C) how many State contracts that are up for renewal or new market bids are lost. Word gets around.
Best of luck to everyone that you can find something else before it's too late. This is just another warning sign, if all of the RIFs weren't enough.
This company is run by soulless ghouls.
Also, if you are counting on Wipro to run benefits and claims, you have no idea what you're doing and should not be running a healthcare company.
From April 2019: "Indian information technology (IT) outsourcing and consulting giant Wipro Ltd. is investigating reports that its own IT systems have been hacked and are being used to launch attacks against some of the company’s customers"
Of course it is an Indian company. Why are the people running Elevance Health so obsessed with giving al the IT work to Indian people?
This affects ALL benefit configuration, requirements, QC, and auditing for all Medicaid and Medicare plans. Wipro has proven in the past that they are not capable of handling any of these functions. This is Elevance's way of getting employees off the books without having to report any type of RIF. Start looking, if you haven't already.
Wipro has has made some big mistakes in my past life, which has caused regulators to get involved and big lawsuits. Just google them and you will see. All I can say is, YIKES! Run for the hills if you get moved to that mess.
So associates get moved to IBM, Deloitte, WiPro, Carelon, etc. Business functions now go across companies, not just organizations. I get how these deals can look good on the short term books, but … not going to solve healthcare woes.
Wipro has associates based in India and the Philippines. Currently Elevance is outsourcing a lot of claims processing work to them with more coming. Anytime a group drops it’s outsourcing restrictions they get moved over to Carelon or Wipro.
#hph....Not sure what you are getting at? Please elaborate on how this relates to what is going on with RIF'S. Thanks

Keep outsourcing, we are getting there.
"Next year, interest payments will top $1 trillion on national debt of more than $30 trillion, itself a sum roughly equal to the size of the US economy, according to the Congressional Budget Office, Congress’s fiscal watchdog.
The CBO sees US debt reaching 122% of GDP a mere 10 years from now. And in 2054, debt is forecast to hit 166% of GDP, slowing economic growth."
Which GBD departments?
This is very very disheartening! I am so sorry! From my research
this is a company based in India. Best to all impacted!!
Did they offer you jobs at WiPro like they did when they sent jobs to Deloitte? Or were you just sh-t out of luck?
Is WiPro an Indian company based in India?
Can someone please share what departments the GBD Benefits COE includes?
WiPro also had hacks in 2017 & 2019
Wow. Apparently no one in Leadership cares if we can do anything ourselves anymore. We will not be able to perform even the most basic of updates as a company. This is the ship going down.
WiPro was at the center of the UHG/ChangeHealthcare Hack
OP what does BCoE do?
Also, sorry about the news :(
I haven't heard "BCoE" in a long time- is that a division or a group like benefit configuration etc...
Yep, another way of getting rid of good hardworking people without paying severance. 😢
GBD is the Government Business Division = Medicaid and Medicare.
